it's supposed to be an F104 regular... it has an FRP chassis, steel rear axle, plastic diff housing, etc. and it's going to be anywhere from $202-$219..
I can get the 104Pro for $204 locally from a walk-in hobby shop... I'm probably going to get one today... and when the new bodywork and rubber tires comes out.. I'm going to jump right on it... I didn't like the 2009-spec cars when I first saw them... but now that I've been watching the racing all season... I'm kinda liking them a LOT.. and even more in its RC form

That's a pretty good deal. I'd do it before it's too late. You never know with Tamiya, they might decide to stop producing the Pro kit after the standard kit comes out...

I just started working on my chassis set up and am finding that that SMC 4100 hard pack I wanted to use is not going to fit w/o some modifications. Has anyone experienced this and have suggestions ? Thanks

What's not fitting? I have a ThunderPower 40C 5000mAh pack in mine. I eliminated the swivel gates, used the included extra standoffs, and basically built the battery into the chassis, but it fit great that way. It fits into the rear cradle piece and the front clip-in retainer holds it in place fore/aft nicely.

Thanks reenmachine, that looks like the path I may need to go down. I can see the leads that sprout out of the case getting in the way of the graphite top plate also. Any pics on how you mounted your electronics ?
