Could anybody recommend foams for the 104?

Racing on medium-low traction asphalt. Car was pretty good with rubber shimizu 571/572 combo but towards the end of the nights racing the weather got too cold for them. With winter approaching here the rubbers will soon be not very useful.

Are GQ racing foams any good?

I'm looking to run my F104W on the local carpet track. Just curious as to what Pit Shimizu tire compound combo is the hot tire setup for the F103 size tires.
I run the 0571 & 0572 combo on my X1 currently and it feels great. I was thinking about running those same compounds (R1-Hard, F1-Soft) but obviously in the 103 versions.

Anyone have any input?
We run on carpet with TONS of grip too.

Anybody else here having issues with there 572s inserts bunching up on them....after one carpet run today my rite rear (the track had mainly rite turns)would get a hard spot in it and i would have to massage it out?

.i dont kno what the other guys are doing but i wrapped my inserts with one lap of fiberglass tape before assembly...

i put a couple drops of CA on the inside edge of the seam and have had 0 problems. i've been running the same set of tires since october

Is that legal in the Toledo Spec F1 Class? I thought the rules said you had to buy pre-mounted tires (that don't exist)....lol

How's your F1 racing going? I really enjoyed running mine in GA. May go back again, it's about 2.5 to 3 hours, but they race at 7:00pm so ya get home late!!!

.only ran once so far..qualified 7th out of ten but wadded it up in the main......worked today ..didnt race......will be running next Sunday......

Toledo seems to have a good turn out every week (7-12 cars); to keep the attendance up in the latter part of the indoor season we started a points series to keep the class going strong. We had 11 cars yesterday and the top 7 were all within a lap of one another.

There was originally talk of spec tires at the beginning because all the sets being supplied to our group were being sold pre-mounted. We had someone go out of their way to help the class get started and we were just learning the ropes at that time.

If you get a track where there is a ton of traction, the short deck with the FRP chassis will traction roll very easily. At the hangover dash on New Years day in Cleveland, I was the only one that didnt traction roll, and I was the only one that was running the long deck.

Made my f104x1 up to ETS specs, rules with sp cirtix esc, 21.5 sp sportsman motor, shorty lipo and Ride medium rubbert tires (180mm). I really like the shorty lipo, much more room to mount the esc, receiver and make a tidy wiring. Balance of the car seemed also fine.

Looks great
Why not mount the elctronics the old way so you get even more weight to the rear?
This will give you more traction at the rear and the wires would be a lot shorter.
