Can someone help me out with my issue. I ran my F104 X1 tonight for the first time. the front end of the car is planted but as i roll into the throttle the rear tends to wash out. What can I do to fix this issue. My setup is below:

Ride height: 4mm
tires: Tamiya front soft, tamiya rear soft( I sauce entire rear and front 1/4 inside edge)
Front springs: kit mediums
Center shock: 40wt oil, kit soft spring
Roll dampener: kit grease
Camber block: 1.5
Toe 0.5 deg toe out

Motor: 21.5
ESC: tekin set to blinky

it sounds like youre on asphalt? maybe add some weight to the rear pod and add some negative throttle expo(curve) to soften the punch a little?

Get rid of the tamiya tires and get pit shimizu.

If you are using tamiya rubber tires you are better of with the hard type in front and the soft ones at the rear, you could also use the hard spring in front (steering) and use a soft grease in the side damper.

Finally managed to make it to a Shanghai GP race this weekend, and having tried for a few weekend to get my Rabbit/FGX fast, I gave up and switched back to my 104X1... and well, it proved the right thing to do.

Qualifed 6th on the grid, out of a field of about 45drivers, so happy with that, especially given that I was starting out in the lowest qualifying group, and the track did increase in traction during the day.

For the 30min final, I tried to predicate the track change (given I had about 4hours between qualifying and the final!!).. and got it wrong wrong wrong, and simply gave the car too much steering. By the end of the race, managed to adapt my dirivng and could turn some fast laps, but the consistency was blown out the window, and just a small error would bite back...
Stuck it out and finished 8th though. Dissapointed, but at the same time, hadn't run a 30min final before, so had no idea even I'd make it too the end with battery/motor setup. Made it, but tight on cell voltage...

But more positive was made some quick alterations after racing, namely putting the black spring on the front to stop it pitching hard when on the brakes... and straight away improved the car further, with the consistenty back too... so quite simply, can't wait for the next round

Had great fun too... and everyone there seemed happy and entertained!

Which tires? Rubber or foams?
You listed front soft and rear soft.

Just kind of curious if anyone can help me on this, but we are heading to the TCS race at Tamiya in a couple weeks and was wondering if anyone has some gearing advice for the Tamiya USA track? It's my buddy's car and he will most likely be using a silver can.

I am running rubber tires. The track I am running on is a medium bite carpet. 90x45
I would like to use pit's but I just don't have any at the moment.

I do have all the compounds of rubber from Tamiya for the front and only the soft for the rear

What T-bar? Kit? 'High bite' soft? Softer T-bar should yeild more rear traction.

The t-plate is the high bite that comes in the kit for the f104 X1

ChadRacing, seems like too much front grip. Not sure but I've never seen a Tamiya soft front rubber tire, only hard (optional) and kit (medium).

How's your diff? Smooth, soft feel without slipping?

Try adding 60grms on each side of the battery (in between the rear pod and the radio trays).

Try what i did with the T-bar(see pic and if allowed)
It will give more rear end grip.
Don't use the front soft tires as this will ad the rotating of the rear when putting on the power.
Use the hardest front springs(i believe the black one).
This all will give you more rear end grip and less front.
Also when you have it, run the shorty lipo's as this will put the weight balance to the rear and will generate more rear end traction.
Also and this is what i like, is put the car in the front about a MM closer to the ground then the rear.
So in your case 4MM front and 5MM rear
