why? I'm using a Tamiya ball nut and long screw... which clamps the (4mm) of spacers I use together.. don't need to use threaded spacers.

that's also a solution, but I was building my F104x1 kit and had no extra threaded balls and was trying to find a solution for the 'stock' ballconnectors http://www.rctech.net/forum/9943686-post6907.html

Here is how I have mine.

Fluorine coated ball nut, 2x 3mm yeah racing spacers, screw.

This solution is the one I probalby use...

For the knuckle a low profile ball connector is used...to get more room for the turnbuckles under the top arms

what is the Tamiya (?) part number for it(the ball connector)?

I run the speed passion citrix, very smooth throttle, not to big, and affordable! I think TQ and stormer has the combos for under 100 bucks! Not sure how much just the spedo is.

this is a great combo for sure i would suggest trying to just get the speedy and purchase a one cell 17.5 Speed Passion motor extremely smooth and is a heap lighter, advance the timing all the way and its spot on.

The aluminum piece is pretty bullet proof.
I have run the heavy pivot post both with foam on carpet, and rubber on carpet, as well as outdoors with rubber. I think for foam on carpet, I would go aluminum, same with rubber on carpet.
Outdoors I would run the heavy one. My car worked really well out at the Tamiya track using the heavy pivot.
Was dialed at the Toledo track as well.

I am wondering if the Tyrrell P34 1977 version will be a lexan shell (like the 1976 version) instead of the current plastic shell ?

Also note Nissan RC91P and Toyota TS020, both were previous pan car style chassis.
