Thanks... Yea I think you are right... I ran the 81 Spur with a 17T and the motor got to 95C... Ouch.. I need to rethink.. I must say the car was so much better and smoother with the converted gears and the adapter.. A Joy to drive.. I got First in the A final… Does anyone know if there is any advantage / disadvantage to running 6 or the full 12 carbide diff balls in the diff.

I am currently looking to assemble one of these cars for a local series they run on pavement at my local track using a 13T EzRun brushless setup. I would like to know which of these 2 is better suited for pavement?
I like the X1 a lot but noticed it does not come in carbon fiber, Also I was searching for parts like the upper deck and chassis and could not find any for the X1 was wondering if they will ever be any replacement parts for the x1 or because of it being a limited edition car parts wont be available? I want something future proof that In case anything breaks replacement parts are available which with the Pro I have seen lots of replacement and aftermarket parts.

I run the standard F104 Pro with pretty much all 3racing blue alloy upgrades and it's great on our outdoor track. Although we don't run motors as fast as 13T I'm sure you could set it up to suit.

Is there an easy way of converting the F104 Pro to the wide front end?
If so what parts do you need?
I'm struggling to find anything online...
Thanks

go the X1 you can pretty much make the f104 pro close to a X1 with a number of option parts but if you plan on racing with rubber X1 or you will find the f104 pro a little stiff and you will need to buy a number of option parts for the Pro to get the most out of it

i will assume that parts will be released, as for the alloy parts and split top deck it can be purchased already. the biggest thing with X1 is the counter weigtht on the hub and the suspension it has been desighned for rubber.the car is strong
My F104 pro has all the options and looks close to a X1 apart from the colour mines Blue. you wont have a problem getting parts for it i buy most of mine from rcmart or ebay.
most of the parts are interchangable if you suffer a bad crash and brake something but the cars are robust and quiet strong i have only broken one thing and it was the LHR hub big crash and the wheel came fying off but there has been plenty of big offs.

The F-104 Pro is super strong... Mine has been in the wars and still looks good. The other week at full speed it clipped another car, went end over end 6 times in a row
Broke the rear wing, but these are probably the weakest part of the car. I have 2 spare ones luckily and superglued the old one up just in case

Oh the only thing that I don't like about the F104 Pro is the body.
unless you have a super small ESC and Receiver you have to stretch the body over them.
Can you get the old style bodies for them as well as the wide front arm conversion?
