Tamiya F104 Pro!

I took some time today to finish the car and get it ready to run.

And with these minor odds and ends wrapped up...the F104 X1 is DONE

Please note the following details:
- As instructed, don't forget a dab of grease on the lock nuts to prevent the locking rubbery bit doesn't rip or pop off when you initially tighten it.
- When attaching the front wheels, tightening the lock nut fully and then back off an 1/8th of a turn to prevent the bearings from binding.
- I had to adjust the rear body mounts by adding/removing spacers until I was satisfied with the body's stance.
- The body MUST be trimmed to clear the roll damper.
- Trim ANY part of the body that may rub ANY part of the chassis when it's flexed in ANY direction. This will prevent any weird on track behavior due to a body rub.

So i stopped into TQ after the CalOpen (first real race with the F104, sooooo much fun) last week and picked up a set of the PIt Shimizu tires and some of the stock tamiya foam wheels for them. Just glued them up tonight and noticed there is a bit of a gap between the foam and the wheel once assembled. It makes them nice and soft but they almost look like you would have a tire low the way they squat down. This normal?

RC Mart just emailed me, advising me that my new McLaren is on it's way to the land of Mark Webber

Just need to decide which of my power systems to use -
HobbyWing 13t EzRun or Hobbywing Boosted speedy with 17.5 Duo ?

Thinking maybe run the boosted setup for more adjustability (softening the punch down low, while giving good top end still), trying to not buy anymore electronics...........

Hi,
I have dropped in and out of this forum the last few weeks and I am thinking about getting an f1 car.
I was wondering what mods/ upgrades people would advise on getting for the
Ferrari/McLaren mp4/25 F104
and the F104w
I guess the only difference between the two are the f104w has the f103 front end and wheels???
Any advise on these would be brilliant.
Many Thanks in advance
