Mine weighs in at 1294g, without a transponder. That's with a 3800 NiMH stick pack onboard.

Default Fitting Larger Lipos

I have been working on fitting IP 5000 lipos in the car. The problem I am having is with the ECS & RX trays. The parts that protrude at the top and bottom on the post on the inside are getting in the way. I have filed them down at an angle and have not left much and I am still needing about 2mm to make a good fit. I am thinking if I cut away the inside portion of the circular portion that goes on the post and then find some flat washers with the inside diameter to fit over the posts and glue them at the top and bottom of the tray, this would eliminate any obstruction on the inside of the battery compartment. I would think that CA should work to attach them together. Any thoughts or input on this idea?

wondering if a smc-based lipo or even a reedy 5000 (w/wiring out side) will fit in the car?

Here is my F104 as it is so far, I'm planning on using the Orion 2400 and 3200, as well as the Reedy 3400. All these batteries fit really well without any major modification, just a slight trimming down of the battery holder.

Some aero tweaks
