I am loving this car. It is a blast to drive and batteries last forever!
This was really the first time driving on road outside and driving on road in over ten years. I cannot believe the difference in handling with the sun. When I first started driving the back of the car would spin around very easy. The sun was out on the track making things very hot(tires sitting in the sun were 100F). I did sweep the line but there was some dust left over. Some clouds rolled in and suddenly the back of the car was stuck and the car was pushing. A dust free line was also starting to develop. The one problem I had all day was the front end chattering. In the longer corners you could see the front wing bouncing up and down through the corner. I was running 1.5 camber and moved it to 2 but the chatter was still there. I am going to go back to 1.5 since the tire wear was more even. The next change I think I should try is front springs, what would you guys suggest?
Here is some video from today. With the car pushing it was making driving a tight line difficult. Also the battery died on the camera before I really started to get the feel of the car and could work on hitting better lines.

I want to see r/c mags doing a shootout article on current F1 kits on the market (1/10 primarily).

Hello F104 racers,
I know its kind of funny as I'm a hb/hpi guy, but I have to give props to this great car after I drove mine at ultimate F1 race at tamiya track last weekend. As it's world known, the body looks amaging and the each single part quality is outstanding. Everytime I see my car, my face is smiling because of the looks.
I was also impressed with its performance too. I actually need to squeez some more steering some how but it is very good for the stablity which I'm trying to get for my f10. (my f10 has more steering instead)
Great job tamiya R&D team! I'm really having fun with the f104!!
Thanks
Hiro

Yep, good job with the 104 Hiro.
When you stopped early for your 1st pit stop and gave me the lead I decided not to stop because I had open track in front of me.
Then you chose to stop again still early in the race for your second and final pit stop and I still had open track in front of me so I again decided to keep pushin to try and pull away.
I thought I was haulin ass and I was, for me, but when I finally stopped for my 1st of my 2 mandatory pit stops you caught and passed me.
I guess you were the one haulin ass and took an easy win!
I was happy to hold on for 2nd, far behind you tho.

Which is better for driveability - NiCd or LiPo?
Hi,
I am trying to work out which ESC to buy and lower cost are geared towards NiCad, higher towards LiPo (could buy a brushed / brushless ESC for example).
Is the F104 generally easier to drive with a heavier NiCad on board or a light LiPo?
Thanks

To fritzzz
NiCD doesn't have much capacity, 2400mah at the most. I don't think it's worth it to run them unless you want to use your old NiCD packs. Cheap ESC price around $30, no reverse, brushed motor only, and 18 to 20 turn motor limit.

F1 class more exposures
Kyosho should jump on board with F1 kit, and 3Racing should try to find a good U.S. distributor (Horizon maybe?) to promote their products. Also, those European companies such as Schumacher, Xray, Serpent, etc should get into F1. I hope it doesn't take a company like Traxxas to bring back the F1 class.
