I Have a question for you all, if you had the choice between a 15th anniversary F103 or and F104 pro which one would you pick and why?

They will be used in TCS.

Thanks

I would choose the 103, but they have changed the rules for TCS F1 this year to limit the chassis to F104 only. This is for BC at least, but i'm pretty sure everywhere else as well.

Correct if I'm wrong, which I hope

Canadian TCS allows for bothsee below:
However i'm interested in knowing why you picked the F103.
From what I have heard the F103 performs better on Carpet and the F104 is better on Asphalt, I never drove an F104 so I need your feedback.

Thanks.

I wonder why they did that, I have an F104 to race with but I also picked up a F103 15th anniversary recently. For $150

It was a while ago when I had my F103RS, it always felt more stable and planted on carpet than the F104. Never had it traction rolling too. Maybe due to the wider trackwidth?

Who knows. But it would make sence from a business point of veiw. If people were still buying and racing the 103s, there would be a stockpile of 104s still sitting in their warehouses. The 104s look and handle nice, but they're slow. Banning the F103 would force people into buying the F104 for the TCS races.

The 103 is better everywhere. The 104 is narrower and longer, and the t bar doesn't have the articulation of the 103.

No contest, same driver with each car, 103 kills it.

So you will need both cars just because.

Thanks for the info, I guess I'll keep the F103 that I have and buy a F104 in case I make it to the TCS finals. ()

Have you guys compared the 103 to the 104 running rubber tires on carpet?

104's are still great cars. Mine is on rails on carpet and I run with both 103's and 109's all on the same pace.

I just need to loose about 100g. She's a pig

a question of those running the exotek conversion with lipos.

i've been running mine for the past couple of weeks, and I can't seem to get it as 'planted' on the track as I had my F104 running nimhs. It is loose at the rear, that does tend to break traction on turn in into a high speed corner, so off course, I need to ease of power to get it to be smooth

the car currently weighs 1135 grams, i run the steel diff shaft, but it seems very twitchy at over half full speeds. I run the offset at the front, ride height is 6.5 mm front 5.5 mm rear. I run on a low grip dusty track with rubber tires.

what other changes can I gradually try to make the car handle better in the high speed corners, without adding more weight if at all possible.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Reduce you rear droop. The nimh packs were much heavier so the main chassis didn't rise as much off power so some weight still stayed on the rear pod. The Exotek chassis's pivot suspension also articulates much easier than the "T" plate so droop comes easier and more suddenly.
