Can I wager a guess that the spring vanished because the retaining nut unscrewed itself? If so, an O-ring on the top of the threads will keep the retaining nut from leaving the scene of the crime, next time.

Bingo!!!lol yes, for got to put an O ring on it I guess I'll be using my 1/12 springs for now they are longer but fits. Well would this affect the handling dramatically???

Depends on how much dampening lube you use in your setup. If it's really thick, then it might affect the handling. I haven't used any dampening lube on that top disk yet, so mine could vanish and it wouldn't matter at all.

For those F104 rubber tires fans... on Saturday I had a chance to drive an F104 with the soon to be released "option" rear tire. Track temps were under 115f, it was a big improvement in rear grip over the kit rubber at those temps.

Cool (pardon the pun) Hope to have mine by next week...

One observation and one question from yesterday's racing:

• The 3.5mm offset front upright was a nice improvement - front end turned in quicker and the car was much more stable under brakes. Initially puzzled because it doesn't fix to the kingpin like the kit one, but it worked well anyway.
• What looked like a minor hit two weeks ago, snapping the threaded axle (aka "wheel stopper") also broke the rim carrying my H1 Ride tires. Couldn't get the Tamiya rubbers to work, so I tried the S1 Ride tires at the back, but the car became quite unstable down the straight. I'm still relatively new to F1, but is this expected or unexpected (ie: unstable with super soft rear and medium fronts)? I resorted to the Tamiya B foams which are really good on the warmer, daytime races and had a ball

An Orion 3800 is about as big as you will get without removing or dremeling the radio trays. If you're willing to do that, and either charge in the car or remove the top deck to get the battery out, you should be able to get it in there.

Hey guys, a warning to you all. Do not run the F60 kit tires on carpet any under circumstances, lest you become embarrassed by the people laughing at your apparent lack of driving skill. I learned that lesson the hard way over the weekend.
