Thanks guys. The black did turn out better than I though it would. I'm not sure if I would recommend it though, as you lose the nose shape of the car, because you obviously can't black out the lower portion of the body. The red tape I used there helped, but it's not quite as good.

Does anybody know what the stock rear spring is rated at? I've got some green AE springs as well as Xray C2.2 springs lying around and I wonder how they would compare.

I believe these flush mount plugs are the answer, should work without any modifications.

I see Tamiya has already discontinued the F103 car. It is a shame. I am thinking about getting an F104..... What does everyone think will become more popular? The rubber or foam tire car.

Really depends do you want to spend extra to hop up the "rubber" car to the specs of the "foam" car.

You can always get the "foam" car and get the rubber tires if your track races rubber.
Tires are wear items.

Hey Jamie -

At the Coliseum we hope to transition to rubber tires for club races. Our track has so much traction, I think that the rubber tires will do well. I have a set of the tires, but cannot find the wheels available anywhere yet.

Mr. Banks plans to bring his F60 this weekend if he can get it completed. The F60 has the rubber tires.

So, get your F104 and come school us Mortals like usual.

Are the C and Madness racers really taping the foam tires on, or are you gluing them like the rest of the DIY pancar community?

I asked a few guys at RCM and was told that taping was fine and did mine that way...a few races later and they're holding up OK.

The tape (as delivered with the tires) is more than up to the job. You'll wear the foams to rim and the tape will still be holding firm. It also comes off quite cleanly, with just a little persuasion

Can anyone owning the F60 show how the front wheel covers are mounted, also the size of the screw holding it down?

I MUST agree, looks super sick... That gives me an idea what my F60 will look like in all black. Much props! This is reguarding Wheelnut's 104.

These are my new Shimisu rubbs w/ gold rims. I plan on gluing mine, due to the speeds I'll have to achieve to beat my mentor...

How tight u guys lock ur diff? I can't lock it tight, otherwise the car will swerve to left side when I throttle fully... I have to loosen the diff to counter the problem.... any1?

I adjust the tightness of my diff only to the point where I'm barely able to rotate the spur while holding both rear wheels. However, when rotating a single wheel by hand, the diff should feel smooth and not overly gritty or bumpy.

I use a 400 - 600 grit wet/dry sand paper to "rough-up" the diff rings prior to installing. I also use Associated diff lube on the diff balls.

That's what I did but the car tends to swerve to left whenever full throttle... I gotta slip the diff a lil bit then this problem goes away....thou the diff is slip, the speed is still ok.... oh btw, I'm using ceramic ball.
