FIRST SO CAL RACE IN F1 SERIES NOVEMBER 7TH
Next Saturday is an ALL F1 race day at Camarillo Roadrunners track...
This is the beginning of a Southern California F1 series...
foam and rubber class...
Hand out motors for everyone...
rules will be slightly different for each track, so keep up
The next stop will maybe be OCRC ???
After that we will give points for the F1 class at KO race at WCRC...
BCR will be on the list...
Charlie Barns has multiple tracks to hit...
Once we hit them all, then were done
Basically we will swarm tracks around town and make a Series...
Tim is keeping track of points and I will post it up on this site...

Hello from France!
Here are my F103 they were ten years.
A new F104 for it a month ago.
I'm friendly competition in my region.
I did not put the brushless, but I feel that it will come.
I drive a stick of nimh and Nicad, and I ordered my 1st lipo pack at RC mart, yeah 3200 lipo. I hope that the pack is in the slot cars?
My decorations are not flawless, but the point is it no fun like children?

My new F104, un bonheur à construire!

hello! can anyone give me some photos of a rim Zen (screen inside) to the rear of the car to see what adapter do I save for my F103.
Thank you in advance.

So I drove my F104 for the first time yesterday (100'x50' indoor asphalt track), but before even putting the car down on the track I made some initial changes from the stock setup. I put some heavier springs on front and a lighter spring in the center shock. Also, I replaced the stock spur with an adapter to use a kimbrough type spur which definitely helped the differential action.
The car pretty much pushed mid corner and a little on power during corner exit. Went back to the stock springs and the car was finally steering, but was still overshooting the turn when coming in too hot. I did notice the twitchiness on the straight away and dialed out about -40 steering exponential which fixed the twitchiness. The only place I felt the car was loose was on the straight, but after making it less sensitive on center that high speed twitchiness went away.
I only got few practice runs in before I had to leave. The car definitely feels like it has a lot of corner speed. I plan on working on the rear end next practice session to help with the overshooting. Maybe play with the esc braking profiles too. Overall, not a bad first outing. Anyhow, the track where I race is going carpet next weekend for the winter so it looks like I'll be continuing my setup development on carpet.
Setup info:
Electronics
- 9551 steering servo
- Airtronics 94722 receiver (M11x) and M11x transmitter
- LRP QC3 (stock settings)
- Tamiya silver can motor
- AMB transponder
- TP 3200mah 40C LiPO
Radio settings
- D\R setting 70% - basically was able to do a circle in the tightest area of the track
- Steering EPA 100%
- Steering EXP ended up with -35%
Chassis
- Kit tires (no truing was done - around 63 to 64mm fr and rr - ride height was around 5mm fr and rr)
- Front track stock
- Stock kit front springs
- 30K lube on king pin
- 1 degree camber
- No toe - wheels straight
- Front ride height shims in stock setting
- Silver spring on rear shock - 20wt oil -I think it's an old Yokomo spring that is very light. Plan to go back to red spring on carpet. Hardly any pre-load on spring.
- Stock t-bar
- Rear pod friction pad adjuster around 4.5mm down from top
- AE diff grease on pod
- Rear track stock
- Ride height adjuster - ride height adj #3 flipped to achieve 5mm
- Jack the gripper - 1/3 fr and full rear
- Rear wing setting at lowest position for most downforce
- 25 or 26 pinion and 96 spur
- Diff locked
- Aluminum rear pod used.

was wondering what the concencus was to cuttting out the body holes as indicated in the instructions. instructions advise cut away if you wish
Was concerned at one point if keeping them meant air would be thrown over the rear wing - making it less effecteive?
