What temps should I be aiming for after a 2 minute run with a boosted 21.5 ?

60C ?

I have read to try and keep the temp close to 90C after a 6 minute run, but I don't want to run that long before I go up or down on the pinion.

Thanks in advance.

Looking for a little help/advice. I'm trying to figure out what wind motor I should get for my Ve8. I currently have a Tekin 2050kv motor and speedo. I'm looking for slightly less power/more run time. Are any of the Silver Arrow motors comparable power wise to the Tekin 1900kv or 1700kv motors?

Thanks in advance.

Shielded case or something like that...

No...cause there are none right now.

Won the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 2X...that is better then words.

SP ESC is very famous about the SMOOTH drive even on MOD motor, and the BRAKE performance is outstanding...you won't be disappointed.

Some mod ESC setup can be found here...

I have yet to try the booster or receive packs on the LPF myself...cause I only use the EX for 1S racing. But I heard 50/50 about some works, some doesn't...you best bet is use GT2 EX.

2200kv are what most of our 1/8th driver use...

SAII series motor can be used, I would say 8.5 and 9.5 are good.

We don't have the formula to tell which motor is how many KV and this and that...those number are no longer correct and I stop finding them and just run the motor.

can you use the lcd programmer to change the few parameters you can change?

btw im coming from my very old GSC V8 esc and a Trinity 17 turn brushed motor. i have zero experience with lipos and brushless set-ups

thanks in advance

Yes...but they are pre-set (cannot be adjust) 3.4V/cell

17.5 can be gear from 3.75 to 4.25...depends on your timing set on the motor.

No, you cannot use the SP LCD programmer to setup the cirtix club spec...you have to use the Cirtix LED Programmer box...you cannot use the USB connector.

If you have more question, just ask here...

If you are temping your motor for the ESC performance or both...I only temp my motor for no more then 5 laps (not minutes)....cannot be exceed 180*F = 82*C

Sometime I will let go for 190*F if it feels good, but agian, that is the absolutely MAX for all SP motors....87*C

If you are hitting 90*C you are really RED LINE your SP motor.

We have setup for the latest 1212 software with 21.5, look here...

do you have a good motor for a 4wd short course I was looking at the silver arrow 1/8th 5.5, is it going to be the same as a 550 5.5 from other manufacturers and will it work ok with my lrp tc sphere speedo? For $69 it looks like a great deal

I am going to run it on 2s so I was hoping that I could find something in the 3000 - 3500kv rating

Hi Solara

i have the latest 17.5 T motor and was wondering about timing on the motor from factory looks to be about 4 or 5 deg ? in the middle of the slot and i was wondering running a stock class with no timing on the esc which is the SP as well as it was the package i brought , what gain will i get from turning the timing up to the 10 deg mark on the motor?

and the track i run on it largish with 20 to 35m long striaghts i am running a 72 spur and thinking about going up to a 37 or 39 pinion?

as i currently run a 72 / 32 and i hit full speed 1/2 way up the straight

any help would be great

car is a XRAY T2 2009
