im sat pole in this race, using schumacher with a SP gt2.0 with the supercharger. The guy behind me was using a Tekin, we were both using same motors. Annoyingly i could have TQ'd the meeting if i didnt role it in qualifying - that would have been something to brag about to the tekin boys

good work SP guys

Hows about sharing your settings, FDR, motor timing, etc.. thanks!

settings were:

Duo2 13.5 with 12 degrees advancement on endbell
FDR: 6.96 (89 spur, 23 pinion, 1.8 internal ratio)
Motor was coming off around 65-75 degrees C after 5 minutes.
software used: 318
settings:
DRRS: 7
ATMS: 5
12: 7
13: 1
14: 3
15: 5

Next thing i want to play with is increasing the RPM delay and removing motor-can timing to reduce the temps a little.

I tried setting DRRS to 8 eariler in the day (when it was cooler) and it increase motor temps but not lap times - so taking it back to 7 made the motor cooler but no slower.

I also tried reducing 14 to setting 2 (0.1 second delay) but it made the car harder to drive onto the straight and on the infield. it also increased motor temps due to the low rpm delay.

ideally ide like to keep the time delay as low as possible (off if preferable) and go on RPM delay. it appears to wait till full throttle before engaging on 318 - but if someone could confirm that, it would be really useful

definitely more testing required. ive now run it 3 times and its getting better each time, but theres still lots to test on it.

next step is again rpm and fdr changes to find that sweet spot... im hoping that when i find the sweet spot for the motor / track combo, it should be fairly similar on other tracks - with a few minor adjustments to delays.

as soon as you talk about foam and asphalt I think your mails gets ignored because the guys run rubber tyres or carpet and on foam tyres. I suggest you go back and read from about pg230 for advice. There is a lot of useful information. Razzor has been very helpful wrt technical advice, a big thanks to him.

i have tested this week-end the Speed passion 2.1 software with a speed passion V3 10.5 . I have drived with 5.1 in ratio and the timing at 26. On a run of 7 minutes the motor was in 80° but it's more fast than the soft of the SP 2.0

Sorry for my English, i'm french

wow... i use fdr 7,1 DMTS at 5 (15°) and DRRS at 6 on a circuit with a 25m of stright and rest is medium speed (at the end is a medium tech track).
But i never had the motor over 55°C (SP v3 10,5) and the esc over 22°C
For me you are using a little bit too much AMTS value...i suggest you to start with something more around at 15° and reduce a little bit your FDR (may be start at about 7,0 but depend on your track size)

Forgot to say i use the endbell timing over the motor a little bit less than +10 (i can say at about +8)

Bye

What is "software 318" ????

If it's the next thing on from 230/231 ........ that is being tested by team drivers only ........... what relevance is this post to us mere mortals who only have access to 230/231 ??????

When might we see a "proper" official software down load available from Speed Passion (on their website)??

This all seems to be dragging on a bit now!

230/231 was released because it was deemed 'safe' for the user. 318 is still being tested by some of the drivers. Just because there is a newer version of a software doesn't mean it is safe for the end user...if you have read our previous posts, some of us have blown 3-4 motors testing new software. Im sure you wouldn't want to do that now would you?
