ESC temps stayed around 90 degees all day. motor temps never got over 110. even though its safe to do, i don't like to run my motors hot. especially mod motors, if i need more power i will change motors, on this day, with low traction, a 6.5 was plenty. actually ran right with the 4.0's and 4.5's on the track.

i wish i could help, i had that issue when the esc first came out and can't remember for the life of me what the problem was, it is fixable so don't give up hope. maybe it was a cap issue.

Default GT 2.0 PRO Advise

I have just bought the GT 2 Pro and will be using it for the 1st time this weekend. Firstly when I set it to my transmitter can I use the setting box to programme it for the 1st time or do I need to use the little button on the esc.
Also I will be running a speedpassion 13.5 and racing on a large open track on asphalt using rubber tyres, could the speed passion guys give me a good starting point set up for brakes, timing, gearing etc.

Many thanks

Thanks for any help you can provide

I remember seeing this discussed/resolved in the old thread but.....
For some reason I was thinking it was a throttle setting on the Helios that was the culprit, but I've tried all kinds of variations and still having the same issue. I wish someone form Speed Passion could chime in on this one. I can only imagine that they have dealt with this issue more than once.

anyone?

When that happened to me it was usually a motor with a faulty sensor board or a bad cable, the speedo will try to start in sensored, but struggle, then it switches to sensor less and works properly. Usually a different motor (or cable) will solve the issue.

I have also seen this happen on 4 cell with the drrs set too highly, but its very rare.

As it shows in the manual (which I highly advise you read), you still need to calibrate the radio to the ESC like all other ESC's on the market, that has not and will not change. Once that 10 second operation is finished all setting are changed from the program box

So Adam:

First time on this thread....If I was looking for a Speed Passion ESC and motor for my 1/10 J Concepts 4WD buggy on fairly large tracks ( 130'straights) using SMC 4900 Lipo saddle packs. Which SP system or ESC and motor should I get. They must be Roar approved. I'm also looking at the Tekin RS Pro 5.5 system. If you can help me it would be greatly appreciated. If you wish you can email me at [email protected] with this info.

thanks....Don
