I´m very sad to say, that my Cirtix zero boost esc blew up a minute ago! Never had any problem with it, a true "no worries" part! Unfortunately for our new racing class we´re forced to switch to the LRP X12 motor, which is a mess in my eyes. Well, I bought a used one from 2011, which should not have the actual problems (another theme). So I tried it today on the table, motor came with the 4 dot insert. Adjusted the esc, test the gas, everything seemed normal, with or without sensor cable, only the r.p.m. seemed to be a bit low (from the sound). Suddenly I smeeled something burning, and my capacitor smoked up and the motor began to rev slowly without getting a signal. End of my beloved esc, probably.:sneaky: Please, if you had similar problems, what could it be? Is the sensor cable from LRP any different to SP? Also running GM motor on it and never had an issue! Sh** LRP stuff... Help very much appreciated, as I don´t dare to connect it to my GT pro now... Best regard, Matthias |
Anyone now a estimate release date for the revention pro? Not 2012 as its a big time frame

Hi,
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to replace the 'massive' capacitor that comes with the Speed Passion GT v2.0 with something smaller in size? I have had to mount the capacitor on top of the top deck. Stephen |
Can you tell how long and how hard have you free rev it Yesterday 01:21 PM I only can warn everyone, not to connect an LRP X12 to the Cirtix speedo! This weekend I asked a racer, who is quite into Speed passion, and he also confirmed me, that this is a no go! (As the guy I bought the motor from...) Then, I dared to connect the X12 to my GT2.1. I raced it the whole day in our race class without any further problems... Finally, got 30€ saved on buying a used engine instead of a new (which is bad anyway, about 4 X12 blew up on the weekend), but lost 60€ on my blew up Cirtix... R.I.P. BR, Matthias |
Dunno what turn motor you used with Cirtix, but X12 17.5t and 13.5t motors worked just fine for me when I tried them before and won race with it. Now my dad uses it (already done 3 or 4 races with it) with above mentioned 17.5t and works a treat.
Maybe Cirtix speedoes aren't reliable with X12 motors in general, but mine works just fine. |

It was my older one (2 years), but in very good condition. Maybe my newer one, which has 2 capacitors from factory, could bear the X12 like yours. Actually, I definitely will not risk to try it...;) Thanks for the info, Matthias |
i got a speed passion gt 2.0 lpf paired with a speed passion v3 10.5 motor...i was racing this combo in my RC10B4 with a protek 5000mah 35c 2s lipo for almost 2 years untill it stopped working after a hard landing at the track...i was wondering if speed passion will replace the esc or exchange it?FYI i bought it brand new

It was the 17,5t X12. It was my older Cirtix with one original capacitor. This was heating up first and the wire smoked away. I wasn´t on the gas anymore, it just happened. After losing the connection to the capacitor, it was damaging also the speedo, as it should be destroyed without capacitor. It happened rather quick and I wasn´t expecting something like this, so I turned off to lately to rescue the speedo.
