Solara, I just ordered my Silver arrow v2.0, my question is do I need to get the programmer too or does the esc come with a stock setup already programed into it ? and does the Speed Passion Multi ESC Programing Box #SPASCPB01 work with the arrow 2 ? Oh and just a little more info I will be running a Orion 1950kv sensorless motor with the Silver arrow

i have the latest 17.5 T motor and was wondering about timing on the motor from factory looks to be about 4 or 5 deg ? in the middle of the slot and i was wondering running a stock class with no timing on the esc which is the SP as well as it was the package i brought , what gain will i get from turning the timing up to the 10 deg mark on the motor?

The Speed Passion V3 motors really comes to life, when you use 10 deg timing on the endbell.

Solara - Thank you once again for giving me the info in regards to the ESC Plastic case.

I received an email tonight - all I'll be require to pay is the postage.

Thanks again.

solara is there a 550 sized motor that will work in the 4wd sct? I was looking at the silver arrow v2 5.5, it looks right but I was wondering if I am correct, there is no dimensions or kv rating on the website.

2.1 EX with stock.

Hey Guys.

Just trying to update my new 2.1 EX esc. Will it run with the newish 528 stock update or only the 205 mod software. Have done the update on the esc and then when connecting to the LCD box it says the software needs to be updated. Got a large race meeting this weekend and am only running 10.5 v3 motor so need stock profiles. Any help will be great.

I am going to run it on 2s so I was hoping that I could find something in the 3000 - 3500kv rating

Yes....our driver is running the 4WD SCT with GT2 PRO ESC along with 5.5 and 6.5 SAII motor...and they ran great. Give that a try.

and the track i run on it largish with 20 to 35m long striaghts i am running a 72 spur and thinking about going up to a 37 or 39 pinion?

as i currently run a 72 / 32 and i hit full speed 1/2 way up the straight

any help would be great

car is a XRAY T2 2009

If you are running no timing on ESC....crank the timing on the SP V3 motor to max (10*)....I used 10* on FULL BOOST ESC setting so you are not going to hurt the motor IF you have the right final drive done.

I don't know what is T2 internal is but for 17.5 V3, you can try running 3.7~4 final and check motor temp and feel after like 5-7 laps.

I think you can gear up more...no timing ESC is totally awesome.

Solara 03-16-2011 07:48 AM

For those who are using no timing ESC and want to get more power out of the SP motor......we are releasing the 11-20* timing ring very soon and currently are testing the 21-30* timing ring with the special protection ring within (due to the high timing)...

If things are working out....the entire V3 motor series will have a whole new power band to choose from and the no timing ESC racing is no longer the same afterall.

Technically....SAII and Cirtix Slotless, can also be called 540L....550 motor is mainly the same diameter like the 540 but the stator is longer, so does the 540L. But 550 does not call out how much longer of the stater need to be and called it 550. There is no OFFICIAL dimension or spec called out what is 540L and what is 550.

For 4WD SCT....Cirtix Slotless series (2200 and 2500) or Silver Arrow II series (5.5 and 6.5) are the motor to have....

We don't call out Kv on some of these motor because our Kv reading is different then other brand's Kv reading and we were used to compare our data to other company and alot of our customer got confuse afterall.

If running on 2S lipo...GT2 PRO is the ESC to use.

Oh, is there a way of purchasing just the plastic esc case? My one doesn't look too flash and wouldn't mind a replacement.

Hi, the plastic case is a non saleable item (At-least that's what SP told me), but they are prepared to supply the case. In my instance I was just charged for postage.

I'd recommend contacting SP HQ at '[email protected]' as this is what Solara suggested I do..

Best regards,
John.

Thanks.

Edit: woah a minute late, thanks [john], ytmnd.

If you purchased the SAII ESC alone (not the combo with motor), it does not come with the programmer card. Since you have to purchase a programmer card anyway, you should purchase the LCD programmer card instead SPLCD01

It is a better unit, cooler looking, can connect to computer, and you can download and upload the lastest software for SAII ESC in the future. This unit can do everything the multi-esc card does plus more.
