Default Is this a good carpet car?

I run stock 13.5/17.5 rubber tire at my local carpet track and am not liking my current car and am looking to try something different. I'm curious if the mi4lp seems to be good as a carpet car? I ran Schumacher years ago outdoors and was always happy with them, but nobody at my local track has tried the schumacher, so any info would be appreciated.

Here is my Mi4LP. There was no problem getting the electronics in the car. I mounted the receiver where I did for easy access to program the GT2 LPF. The car balances and handles like a dream.

What type of tires? Foam or rubber. What chasis are you running i.e. 2.0mm, 2.5mm, 3.0mm. What top deck? and what rear flex bars? also your spring rate versys camber link angle have a huge role on breaking point of the chasis on a whole when traction is to high. I've found even 1 mm of rising or lowering your inside camber link can make or break a car on high traction carpet. also what tire compounds are you using and how much are you applying to them inside to outside? As the day goes on I decrease the amount from the outside in. Alway leave the outsides of your tires dry of compound so when your car roles onto the edge it does not grab hard, the dry edge will slide ever so slightly and will reduse chunking if you are on foams.

hes running rubber tire jaco blues, paragon, its not real high traction, just good traction, carpet gets rolled out and put away every race day, (one saturday a month plus every other wednesday) stock chassis and top deck, is was fine with the setup it had, then one day, slight roll, then more and more, went from 1 groove front plate back to 3 groove, 2mm under plate, blue springs all around, went to blue rears to free it up. went from 3/4 compound, to 2/3 to nothing. even went to a DNA1 body. we may have to go to a heavier shock oil and lighter springs or 6 degree hubs. of course I have all the extra parts with me, so he's S.O.L. for a couple of weeks.

Has anyone tried the thicker (2.5mm) LP chassis outdoors yet?

Couple of questions!

Ive heard people mention using Kimbrough servo savers, which size do i need small or medium?

In the Grainger pic is his servo mounted with one alloy mount and double sided taped down?

I have one but haven't tried it yet, the car seems great with the 2mm so far. I found the kit springs a little soft and going stiffer helped liven things up a bit in tight sections. It's a pleasant change (coming from xray) to actually have too much steering and a still a well planted car.

Ok. Me too (in regards to the 2.5mm chassis), can I ask what springs you ran?

I'm hoping to have a 2.5mm chassis soon. Maybe this week. I'm running on high bite carpet right now. The LP car feels good. I think it will be even better with the 2.5mm chassis.

i was running xray 3.0F and 2.8R, i tried 3.0 on the rear as well but was overheating the tires a little during the run. Xray 3.0's are close to HPI silvers. I only had the schumacher kit springs with me so i haven't tried any of the them yet.

in 10.5t the 2.0mm feels really good, in mod i'm going to try the 2.5mm and see how it goes.

Less rebound.

Wider trackwidth

Glue the front sidewall

Im beginning to become an expert at grip role over years on high grip carpet and sometimes still struggle myself in curing it!

If you have a full metal geared servo?,if not, get one.... then there should be no need for a servo saver...running your steering direct has a much better feel in my opinon.

Yep, just one servo mount, and double sided down.
