Ha Ive counted 6 racers in Central/South Texas that have broken the pivot blocks with skill levels from beginner to expert. I really think the run is bad. Anyone have anything official from Schumacher regarding this?

Hi All,
I like two others at least in my area have broken the stock plastic pivot blocks on our Mi4lps quite easily I'm wondering if there is a bad batch of blocks? The two crashes I saw didnt look bad enough to break the blocks but did. I broke mine when the car slipped off the table and hit the floor without electrics or battery even installed.
I tried to order some from Amain and Schumacher USA and they are on back order for at least two weeks. Does anyone know anywhere that has them in the US?
Rather then lose a weekend of racing I would get the alum. ones but again they are out of stock as well. So would this work instead?
4 Packages of SHU3130
4 Packages of SHU3129
2 Pakages of SHU3131
Would that be the same as two units of SHU3517?
Thanks,
Chris
PS Kind of puts a bad taste in my mouth that an expensive kit breaks so easily with no part availabilty in US.

The only bad blocks were in the first set of the LP kits, if you have a normal MI4 your blocks are fine, and if you bought one of the first LP's I personally included a new set of U3494's with a huge piece of paper stating to use these instead of the ones in the kit. If the purchasers of the kits didn't see them I don't know?
As for the part numbers to build your own U3517's you are correct, also you'll need to include a couple packs of the U2670 screws.
the U3494's are actually in stock, I have more than I care to count in the warehouse right now and they've been here for over a week now.

I thought it strange that my Mi4LP instructions called for washers on the outside of the pivot block to bulkhead screws on one end of the car and not the other. Is it possible that some combination of no washer and overly-tight screws mounting it to the bulkhead could lead to the blocks breaking?
