Hey guys.
Here's my solution for adjustable swaybar links! It's an HPI part. There's 2 versions around. the dull full plastic one (pretty cheap) and the shown posh purple version I got :-)
When you use it, you need to make sure it's slopfree. It's quite hard to get them slopfree as you have to compress them a bit to get them smaller, but once slopfree, the swaybar works much much better and the influence on the cars performance is bigger than you would imagine.
That's the unfortunate thing about having bottom mounted swaybars with the links far in, everything needs to be spot on to make it work properly

I was thinking maybe take a short shock-end ball cup, drill a hole in the shank for a set screw, clip off a few mm of the swaybar, and put that on there. Maybe fill the extra space with some glue of some sort. Then take another shock-end ball cup and thread a ball end into it. It'd work pretty much the same as that HPI/Hot Bodies setup.

Does any one know if the different layshaft bulkheads between the mi4 and lp are any different in top deck height?
http://www.racing-cars.com/pp/Old_Ca...i-4/U3503.html
http://www.racing-cars.com/pp/Produc...ist/U3564.html
also has anyone ever bent (from a massive front end crash) the front bulk heads on a mi4lp but only where they go up to the top deck?
Im trying to work out if i have wrong model parts on my LP or bent front bulk heads only at the part of them that goes up to the top deck

There is only a tiny different between the layshaft mount from Mi4 to LP. You may just be able to see in the pic, but I couldn't be sure I could see it!! The part at the very top, There was a slight change to the chamfer / angle near the top so that the motor could move a little further on the later ones. Otherwise, no change to where the top deck mounts.
It is possible to bend the front bulkhead, but you are talking a massive head on crash. I think I once put a slight bend in one of my prototype bulkheads when i hit a stationary car while running flat out with mod. Only a tiny tiny bend.

And i looked under all the bulkheads and no one has put any spacers or shims under them at all and its all tweak free when top deck is off, so i can only assume that the front bulkheads where they go up to the top deck must be bent from a massive front end impact.
Its almost impossible to take them off and put a flat edge on them as those parts of the bulkhead are ment to be angled for the top deck, there are no visible crease marks on the alum either.
Also note the car came with the 2.5mm top deck and this is all i have and it does not flex much and hence pulls the bottom deck up more and exaggerates the problem.
I just wanted to be a bit more sure so i dont buy some front bulkheads and then it turns out it is the back layshaft bulkheads that are the wrong part or something else silly like that.

Ok, because basically when i take off my top deck my chassis is tweak free 100%, when i put the top deck on and put the front two screws in only, the back of the top deck lifts up 4mm from the rear layshaft bulkhead and when i put the rear 2 top deck screws in it pulls the bottom deck up at the front a fair amount and tweaks the chassis, as if the bottom deck is doing a wheelie

How is the car supported when you take off the top deck? The car is quite floppy without the topdeck, so if it's only be supported in the middle, the ends of the car could easily be sagging down enough to cause the gap you're seeing. But then putting on the topdeck wouldn't cause a tweak.

I always check that kind of stuff with the car sat flat on a sheet of glass.
If with the car sat flat, you have the problem that you describe, then I'd agree it does look like the front bulkheads might be bent. It's not easy to bend the LP bulkheads, but it is possible! As I said, I did bend just the 1 in 2 years.
It could be that you just have one bent. The way I check this is to just push the top deck into the location points on the front bulkhead. Then you check to see if it is square, or going off to an angle. If it's square (i.e the rear holes line up visually) then both fronts are the same (either good or bad!) If it pulls off to one side, then it's this side front that is bent.

Was looking at updating my mi4lp, are there any after market front spools or drive shafts that fit and are available, was trying to get away from the alloy drive shafts with the tiny pin and blades, also if putting a spec r gear diff in the rear of a mi4lp do they fit with the standard drive shafts and blades??
