FK05 Lover: supposedly yes switching to the Mi4/ Mi4LP will help with lower traction because of the longer top deck and changeable rear bulkhead CF stiffeners. Will it be a huge change? I think that comes down to driver setup knowledge, driving skill, as well as your driving style.

get the exotec chassis and top deck for the Mi3, you will be very happy with it use the med flex arms, experiment between the shorts and the standards to get the feel you want

I don't believe its been hot enough for 36's to 'work'.

Lots of people were on the 36s at FastTrax last weekend. They seemed to be the ticket. Track temp was over 100*F. Korey tried the 30s, and they looked awful after one run, so he settled on the 36s. I think Todd also ended up on Sweep 36s after trying 40s earlier in the day.

The 36s were definitely better than the Jaco Blues I started the day on. I threw those out because two of them ripped.

I think I just need to start trying big changes just for the sake of learning how the car reacts to them.

Fasttracks is a different beast altogether. The choice to run Sweep 36's (which I ran also) was a two-fold decision. Yes...first because the 30's looked terrible after one run on them. The second reason, and most importantly, was because of the abrasiveness of the track. That track eats up 28's & 30's. The friction of the asphalt creates HEAT in the rubber. Causing 36's to be dialed out there, and 30's to become greasy. Actual track temp played a small role...

Its just a guess, but Kody, and Korey were running Mod, Jaybee was running in mod with a boosted 17.5 you were running a no timing stock class with limited driving experience, think maybe the corner speed they were carrying had something to do with tire wear, and getting the 30's greasy. rule # 27.4b, just cause it works for them, doesn't mean its gonna work for you. for a very long time, I hated the mazda 6 and speed 6 that 'everybody' ran, I loved the DNA 1 carpet body on pavement, it was the way my car was setup, now I have changed the setup and am using the mazda 6. just saying..

Think about how much less wire there is to balance the car from. He's running a 4-6 turn motor where as most guys are running 13-17 turn motors. Also, you have to make weight, why not just put it in as balance weight.

the difference between a 6.5 and 21.5 on MY scale is 2.835 grams. that sliverr of lead would have to be placed on the outside of the lipo across from the motor to get the equal "swing balance. which I would think is more important then static balance. isn't it? heck I don't know, and I usually don't worry about it.
