I decided not to use a weight plate under the battery so i moved the motor closer to the center, and added as much weight as possible in the middle of the car.

Hi Mike,

Do you have tried the MI4 yet ?

What is the biggest difference with the 3.5 and the 4 on the track ?

Hmm, Thats a pretty simple little trick!

And why not weight under the batt? I want to run a PPD plate, but with the 5 cell kind of layout (or did I miss something) the 6th slot isnt all open is it?

I will try and answer as many things as I have seen posted, some may be off other forums

The car is very good, clearly faster than the Mi3.5 for me anyway. The areas that needed looking at have been addressed without just copying the crowd. Longer top deck. two piece rear bulkhead.

The Motor mount is fantastic, Its almost the perfect design as it does not touch the chassis at any point, so the flex of the car is perfect left to right. The clamp works 100% fine, never had it move never seen it move.

The steering that nobody seems to have noticed is very cool, the mounts angled in so the ball joint does not over rotate.

The drivetrain is the same as on the Mi3, diff spool center pulley spur belts driveshafts etc.. Only thing new there is the diff and spool pulleys are now lighter and narrower..

The layshaft is hard to explane, but a very cool design the way it works.

on the new suspention mounts you can still alter the width and toe with shims, just the height is fixed, personally I will never move that, its in the correct place.

The upper camber links are as adjustable as before just in a different way, there will be various brackets to alter the width in half mm steps and you adjust the height with shims. the kit ones I will use 99% of the time..

I read that I was breaking lots of arms, that was Mi2 arms, I broke 4 I think But that was why Schumacher made the Mi3 arms! They dont break, Or at least I have not broken any.. The reason I was running Mi2 arms before someone asks is the Mi3 is a little heavy so I used them as they are lighter, but as the Mi4 is lighter there is now no need..

Driveshafts I have bent one bone since joining the team..

The top deck angle is a secret, but It seems to work! Today I did my fastest run ever on my local track, first time on it with the Mi4. Personally I am very happy with the car!

Chris

In short the new car has more overall grip, and is smoother through the corner resulting in more cornerspeed. One of the things i am rather excited about is the ability to have weight in the center of the car more now.

I have usually been using mediums, but sometimes a cf in the rear to gain rotation.

it would be really cool if a team driver going to Reedy had a chance to take one to show off if not drive. i mean just cause that driver is going to run mod and doesn't have a chance and in hell of making the A and is probably going to embrass himself isn't a reason not to send him one is it?
