I see, that you nearly allways use 1C/1C blocks with spacers at the wheels in the front. Have you tried 1D/1D or even 1E/1E blocks and then no spacers instead? Allmost the same wide...

Dragging the thread back from PAGE 5 OUCH

With the Team Orion speedies hitting the shelves, are there any suggested setups from your recent travels.
I see that the software has a new version number, any significant changes from the older software?

The ESC itself looks AWESOME, but whoever thought up the new switch and capacitor shrouds needs a good hard look in the mirror. They are HUGE

I raced my TRF416X last night (or tried!)
I did about 4 turns and melted one of the front outdrives!

Then a friend lent me his complete spool set-up, and within 5 turns I melted BOTH outdrives!!!!!!!

What did I do wrong??????

I ran that car before without any problems, the only thing I did was adjust the front belt (to loosen it up).

Is the spool cup sleave (blue aluminium piece) damaged? if you have the adjustment insert in the wrong way up, it will touch the upper bulkhead cap, and this can melt the outdrives... pretty easy to get one or both the wrong way up when adjusting belt tension (been there, done that )

The spool outdrives are fine! they wear instead of you wearing out your drive shafts etc when you hit something! mine last a fair few meetings and only cost around $3 to replace. 3racing or someone also does them with the alu sleeve included for about the same price.

He's already mentioned what happened. If you put the spool in upside down in the 416, the blue outdrives touch the bottom of the bulkhead cap, which knackers the alloy, and heats the plastic outdrives up so they literally melt into a pile of goo.... (trust me, done this! )

On the 417, doesn't happen, as the bulkhead caps had some material removed from underneath for clearance

Do you use shims between the upper and lower bulkheads on the 417, or was that only with the old car?

I am just wondering which way the shock shaft guide goes in after you put the oring in in the TRF dampers? There is a face that has a groove cut into it and a face that is flat.

I seem to have misplaced my instructions
