Hi Jilles,

Hope you enjoyed your stay in Manila. Thanks for racing with my daughter (pink M05). I'm sure she will remember it for a very long time.

kudos to you Jilles. It is great to see the top world class guys race with club guy and actually allow them to catch you and learn from you instead of just running away from everyone. For me this is what makes a good champion.

Hello racers,

Sorry for not being around lately. Need to go back some pages to answer you guys!

- CraigM
Set-up from Worlds is posted, I don't have a set-up from the ETS at Heemstede, but it's similair to like Euros 2009 set-up while the track is highspeed.

- srw_g
Differents between 1C/1C and 1B/1D:
1C/1C give more steering entree corner, 1B/1D more steering middle corner or sweeper. I prefer 1C/1C most of the time.

- hansonhan
Marc uses SMC batteries, Viktor and Elliott Speedpower and I use TeamOrion 5400 Lipo's.

- sidecarphil
Thanks for your message. Frank is doing fine now but is not 100% recovered yet.

-alcyon
I never use the urethane foam as this gives more rebound and I prefer zero or very little rebound at all times. The thicker the oil the slower the damper go out again.
To reduce the rebound the hole in the cap helps a lot, 1mm in enough for the hole.
Always find compromise between hard and soft spring as sure you have more roll with softspring. Harder rollbar in combination with softspring works very well.

- Pinion King
Please give me more info about set-up, tyres etc.

- transplantlife
For the new lipo chassis you not need to change the set-up. Both Snowbirds and LRP masters set-ups will work fine.

-Tamiya RC
I haven't been racing in the rain so much but some changes you can make are:
- droop, little more uptravel, less droop
- softer spring, oil
- ride height little higher, this also effects the droop number

10.5T is very fast these days so no need different set-up compare to modified.

-Chris
At Worlds and Snowbirds I used Ko Propo 2367 servo, is very strong and fast enough.

- Jason
Thanks for posting the video, really cool. I really enjoyed the race on wednesday night!

- Glorykid
I used 5.5 ratio with 13.5T Orion Vortex and LRP stock spec speedo power program 6.

- Joel
It was really nice to race with Porsha, she is a real talent!

- xray009Act
Was nice third final with Gerry, it's better to race close together then race your own race.

Till next time!!

At the Worlds we used less shims as we needed more aggressive steering.
The track was tight and narrow that was the main reason.

- Glorykid
I haven't tested the geardiff on carpet yet, but I quess it works fine too!

Hi Jilles,

Glad to hear that Frank is recovering...

Just check with you, what's your setting using the latest Nosram / LRP speedo (SXX v2) for 4.0t and 4.5t motors? Is there any difference between Much More shock oil and Tamiya's VG shock oil?

Thanks and hope to see you at TITC 2011.

Hi Jilles,

I wonder if you TRF teamdrivers have already had your hands on the new TRF417? (or maybe just on parts of it?)
What do you guess will it improve compared to the TRF416x (incl. Lipo Chassis)? Is it worth waiting for the TRF417 instead of simply buying a TRF416 Lipo Chassis?

regards, Oliver

- Jonest

Honestly I still use "old" V1 speedo as I have a better feeling with this one.
V2 is more smooth on power but lacks power midrange and topspeed.
When I tested V2 I ran with 4.5T feeling 5 and boost/timing 8 to get good power. With V1 I use power program 6 and I have more power.
I don't know the differents in shock oil between the two. The reason all TRF use Much More is that we have always the same reference.
See you at next TITC!!

- Oliver
Non of the TRF drivers has had the 417 yet, hopefully I receive it very soon.
All things that could have been betered on the 416X are now done in the 417!
We have tested already with bigger pullies and this makes a big differents, more smooth drivetrain and also the feeling of the car is better, don't ask me why this is.
If you want the 416X now and you want to upgrade to 417 you need:
-chassis
-topdeck
-motormount
-pulli ( I think also different belts)
-steering system

So it's up to you!
