Exactly, that's why I'm asking this question? I'm thinking maybe the upper rod guide needs to be removed???

I think he used them on top of the bladder, less flexing of the bladder.

Jilles,
Did you use the outermost hole on the rear arm for your shocks?
The setup says outside... or did you use the kit setting #1 in front and #2 in the rear?

Thanks,
Eirik

Btw, congrats Jilles on ur

Shepherd extend deal with Jilles Groskamp

Shepherd are happy to announce that they have agreed a deal with world-class driver Jilles Groskamp to extend his contract for a further two years. The top-qualifier of the last 1:10 200mm Nitro World Championship, and current Electric TC European Champion, will continue to race the Velox V8 in 1/8th scale and the Velox V10 in nitro touring car. Jilles had the following to say about the new deal:

"Signing an additional two year contract is really a step forward in our close relationship and will bring both parties close together testing and improving Shepherd products. Iím really looking forward for the upcoming events such as Worlds warm-up, Worlds and Euros. Much additional tests here in Thailand can help a lot as we will face the same hot conditions as there will be in Houston during the World Champs."

Wayne,
For TITC I will use the 416X.
Set-up is very close to the Worlds 2008 set-up.

Calvin,
I have cut here en there some unnecessary plastic from my M05
I use front and rear yellow spring. The Subaru Ride body also works very well for mini. In Thailand all mini drivers are a little bit crazy about tuning their mini but it's really cool to see all different ideas. You will be suprised about some mini's how they are tuned See you next week!!

Apex,
When using two o-rings you need to remove the small plastic shim.

Orzel24,
I know what you mean. I always use the brace, gives more stability.

Eirik,
I use basic set-up for shock position #1 front and #2 rear

Badboy,
M05 with some option:
- TRF shock set # 400 oil 3 hole
- alu steering linkage
- alu rear 1.5 degree toe-in
- subaru ride body (medium wheelbase )
- special fast gear ( 33T spur / 25T pinion )
- rest all standard M05

Jonest,
Thanks! Great deal with Shepherd for upcoming two years!!

Hi Jilles,
I've watched your great 416WE setup videos and was wondering do you setup the 416x the same way eg: 0.1mm shims under the bulkheads so they dont clamp the diff bearings too tight or has this been fixed? Also do you still use cells or lipo's?

I'm new to this (1/10 EP) so apologies if the questions are bassic.

cheers

Taman,

Thanks! I use very similair set-up for the 416X.
At the moment of the video I still used sub-c cells (NiMh )
Nowadays at most races Lipo's are used, also by the topdrivers.

Hi Jilles,

In BKK now, but stuck at sister in laws place a mere 23k away its killing me not being at the track

Give the fish a slap accross the back of the head for being a mong and totalling his minis.

Jilles,

Do you ever run your downstops so low that your springs become slightly unseated? I ask because it would seem to me that the suspension would cease to function once the spring fully rebounds.

I run with a 5mm rear ride height, and have the downstops set at 4mm (measured with a droop gauge). This gives the chassis 12mm of lift in the rear before the tires come off the ground. The only thing is I notice the springs come off the spring seats by a about .5mm. Is this normal/okay?

Its been pretty good weather actually, friday to sunday we spent down in Ko Chang and island down south, was very nice, stayed right on the beach, could see the waves from the bed. Own private pool etc awesome.

Some pretty strange food though, the Thai family have some strange tastes in food, most of it drenched in chilli too
