Hi Jilles,

Would like to Welcome you to Singapore.

My opinion is anywhere in Orchard Road is good place to stay, if budget allows. As it is the main shopping strip in Singapore.

Default TRF416X lower deck

Hi Jilles,

Does the 416X lower deck fit for the original 416?
I need a replacement lower deck 2.25mm for my 416 but they seem not available anymore?!

Thx

Niels

Hi Jilles,

I would also suggest Meritus Mandarin as it's very near all the good shopping malls.

Hi Jilles, nice to see your still playing with your M05 and congrats on winning! Are you still on the short wheelbase or have changed it to medium or long? Unfortunately my 414 is no longer keeping up in TC, maybe I need to pick up a 416x

Joel

Andrew here

2 places I would suggest, if you have only a weekend there. The Orchard shopping area is a must visit, especially if your girlfriend like to shop or simply window shop. Start at CK Tang Department Mall and work your way around it. CK Tang is kind of a good starting point as it is at the crossroad of the shipping areas.

Clarke Quay is very nice at night time. Very romantic. You will find a lot of expats there. The bars, restaurants and atmosphere are set for a perfect evening. I believe you will enjoy it.

I stayed at Swissotel Merchant Court that last time I was there. The room was large and nice. It is within 5 minutes walk to the river and Clarke Quay. You can take a taxi to Orchard area (approx 10 minutes drive) during the day time to shop, then come back to the hotel in the evening, take a shower, then hit Clarke Quay for a romantic evening

Hello all,

Thanks for the replies about Singapore. I quess there is too much to see anyways!

Cannon,
We ran the small type Ride tyre last weekend. Today I tested the TITC mini tyres and they feel really good and easy to drive without traction roll.
I use very tight ball diff.

Nilezb,
The 416X chassis(lowerdeck) fits the older 416 versions, no problem!

Joel,
I use the Swift, so it's medium wheelbase.

Jilles

hi jilles, you say a 416X chassis WILL fit the old 416/416WE car..

im confused, does that means the old front bulkhead from the 416 will fit the 416X chassis? but how come the new front bulkhead from the 416X wont fit the old style chassis? where does the new front bulkhead differ as i thought the mounting screws for the new bulkhead were wider apart which would mean the new bulkhead would not fit the old style chassis..

or have i just got myself in a complete state of confusion..

I'm not Jilles, but the x plate is drilled for either/or bulkheads, 416 or 416X. The misconception is in the wording of the bulkheads, they keep saying they are wider, but in reality, when in the car, I would say they are longer, not wider. The bottom foot of the bulk head on the X comes very close to the suspension bridge, where on the 416 the foot gap is larger. Thats why the chassiss will work for either, but you would not be able to mount a X bulkhead into a old 416 chassiss, but you could put a old bulkhead in a new X chassiss. Hope that clears things up for you.

I had similar questions like Mark. Was thinking to retro fit the X front bulkhead on the 416 chassis. In layman term I need to drill???

Hi Jilles,

Not too sure when exactly you will be in Singapore this weekend, or if you want to do anything with RC related when you are here.
But we are having a Tamiya race this Sunday - 27th Dec, at the following race track.

RaceCraft Infinity Race Complex
Bottle Tree Park
81 Lorong Chencharu
Yishun
Tel: 6272 1161 (look for BK)

If you can just pop by and say hi, it will bring smiles to all the tamiya and RC fans here in Singapore.

Merry Xmas!

All mounting holes on the X are the same with ori 416 & WE chassis so no need to drill holes. U'll need the top deck thou.

All previous models could use the X chassis as replacement! Kudos to Tamiya!

the X chassis is backward compatible with all 416 series.

@Toh WL : if you want to fit X bulkhead on original 416 chassis, you have to drill the mounting holes.
