Default anything about the rules next week? What tyres? What motor for

sorry for the late reply

the rules is :

1. minimum weight 1.500 grams.

2. NiCd, NiMh or LiPo allowed for batteries.

3. brushed/brushless allowed for both stock and modified.

in modified, here we use 3.5R - 4.5R motor any brand.

in stock class we use maximum is 11.5R motor any brand (SP, Orion, E-Pro, Roche etc)..or you can use Stock 23T motor with adjustable timing and you may change the bushing with bearing (Tamiya & Yokomo23T Motors are common here)

4. tyres.

in Mod class : have to use rubber tyre. we all use Sorex 40R tyre with Sorex Medium C..the wheels we use SpeedMind or Sorex. our track surface temperature can reach 45'C - 55'C when its hot.

in stock class : rubber or foam tyres allowed

tyre additive any brand allowed...here we use Paragon FX2

5. bodyshell should use for EP 190mm, 4 doors. wing position, body trim is free as you like. but the height of your car's roof top with the top of your wing should be level.

t4m1y4niac,

Thanks for the info!
What is normally faster, rubber or foam on your track?
If foam is faster, any advice on which tyres work best?

Thanks again,
Jilles

Default 416x

hi jilles,
can you tell us about the battery position in the new 416x. is it the same as in the 416 or is it like in the 416WE?? secondly, are there any more pointers as for the ETS setup other than glue on the side walls and 7mm/6mm droop?? any other ways to get rid of traction roll and of course weight transfer during the run??

cheers
vito

Hi Jilles,

i'm replying on behalf of t4m1y4niac. this is his reply, foam tyres used mostly by newcomers because it's easier to achieve good setup with foams here in our track.overall, rubber tyres are still the faster ones.

see u next week!

Vito,

The battery position is like the first 416 chassis. But for Lipo this doesn't effect this ofcourse.
More things that help when the traction is high:
- make the front and rear of the car more wide, close to 190mm
- "old" regular Mazda 6 is pretty good when it's high traction
- soft oil, 400W
- softer front spring
- never use progressive but linear springs like Tamiya springs.

Hope this helps,

Dodo,

Thanks for the info.
In that case I don't need much testing with the foam tyres!

Jilles
