Default How weight placement affects steering

JGH

when you are adding weights to your car (assuming L to R is equal).. where do you place your weights (front of the car or rear?)..and how does that affect steering?

thanks!

I think the question is more about how FR:RR weight distribution affects handling...

Hello,

Sorry for late reply, will try to keep up again on the forum.

Veecee,
We started to test without the steering brace for the euros.
I think it gives more steering going into corner but less stable in the corner.
Later in the race at the euros I tried the brace again and it felt better for me. More smooth feeling, less flex of the chassis.

Team Elli,
I know a few years ago Paul Lemieux won Cleveland with a standard 2.5mm Xray chassis. So 2.5mm chassis might work for foam tyres. I think some pages back you find a basic set-up for foam tyres.

Oli,
Thailand is good so far, got little sick due some food poison but further all it's nice. I have the privalige to practise with Atsushi and also play little with mini class and F-1.
The reason I ran 0.5mm higher(lower rollcenter) was better cornerspeed, keeps the car more flat in the corner and because of highspeed sweeper.

Roborat,
When is a race overthere?

Jonest,
We definitaly working on better performance, but it's not so bad!
We all use diff cover of tape, i think it's best solution. If you don't crash to hard, the spool outdrives are fine!

Chris,

More weight in front of car means little less steering. More weight in the rear more steering.

Till next time,
Jilles

Default Travel and transport

Hi Jilles,

Not sure if this was asked before.

If you transport your gear (car/spares/tools) inter continental , how do you do that? What do you carry your gear in , what do you take etc

Or is it all provided by sponsors at track ?

Thanks

jilles: we have an HPI Challenge Series coming up in September then after that we are hoping to push through with our annual Manila Touring Car Championships sometime late November or early December. But we still need to finalize the MTCC details. Will just let you know if anything comes up that might be interesting for you.

Jilles, which SP motor turn do you normally use with 6 cells sub C or 2 cells lipo batteries? With or without the internal fan? If you take off the fan do you need to shim the rotor the same thickness as the fan? What FDR do you use with that set up? Can you give details like Spur and pinion T? And what brand of those gears are you using?

Thanks.

Hy,
I think's thats weong because Marc, Jilles and Yannic used a normal SP GT2.0 in Blue like everyone can buy. the nly thing they play around was with the capacitator because the original one is a little bit large.

I also run the GT2.0 and tried the first time at the Euros. I think it's a great ESC with an excellent feedback.

Why other people like Jilles run an Nosram or a LRP or a GM to not forget them I think its something like they have a sponsoring with that brand.

@Jilles if I'm wrong please correct me

have fun in Thailand ..
regards Tom
