Hi JG

Looks like I may well have a new TRF V5 by next Wednesday , my order has just arrived!

I was wondering on how to go about the diff build. I have been reading this forum thread and build guides on petitrc by kentech. Is the V5 diff the same internally as the 417x and if so should i follow your instructions above? If not, what do you recommend for building a strong, reliable and long-lasting diff?

The other question in my mind is regarding the suspension mount setups for the front and rear. The kit comes with separate front and 1 piece rear. I will be starting off running indoor medium-high grip tracks. Will this be okay as I have heard some say to use 1 piece front and separate back for more flex?

Many thanks for any help you can provide on this.
Scott
It's arrived!

Hi Jilles,

Know you're probably busy but any help with the above would be greatly received. I have been looking at setup sheets and it seems that some drivers are using separate front and rear inner suspension mounts so not really sure if to use 1 piece or separate now, all a bit confusing as to what will give what results.

Q for anyone - anyone have or know where i can get the part numbers for the titanium turnbuckles?

Thanks to all

Hi Jilles, is there a base droop setting front and back that would be suitable for carpet on the 417 v5?

Also do you recommend using drag brake?

Hi all,

does anybody knows if there will be a new Orion speedo becoming available in the next few months to replace the "ageing" Vortex R10 Pro?

Thanks for reply,
G-rem

When you get the motor from factory , its timed in the middle . But what do the different marks means? Is center 0 degrees or is it 20 degress. And what is the jump in degress between the marks ? Hope my questions make sence

Thanks Andy

So, I have a first gen TRF416, I have the Exotek Lipo chassis upgrade, but honestly I don't think it was needed. anyway, last night I tried to race the car on carpet, and it was a mess. my setup was close to box stock, 5mm ride hi, rubber tires...my car sucked. I have new tires, new body...etc...car is fast, I have the speed, but no handling. I think 1 reason is that I am still running a front one way, and the other reason why I think it sucked so bad was that the Exotek chassis is was too stiff. i'm gonna switch back to original chassis and put in a front spool. if that don't work, i'm gonna retire the whole chassis....I'm ready to throw it against a wall!
