US INDOOR CHAMPS 2009

Hey fellas, anyone aware where I can find up to date qualifying results of this event? Is live rc going to be in the house?

Why so many classes? Looks like it has diluted the race in a big way and I notice a number of regular names not on the list.
10 - TC 13.5 rubber
13 - VTA
27 - 1/12 Stock 17.5
17 - TC Stock
50 - 1/12 Super Stock 13.5
16 - World GT 13.5
6 - TC rubber Mod (Sad that a race of this caliber has only 6 cars)
32 - 1/12 Masters 17.5
11 - World GT 10.5 (I feel bas for who ever qualifies 11th)
24 - 1/12 Mod
206 Total
It wasn't that long ago that the entries would max out at 360 months in advance. Hell, I think I remember one year being something like 420. My first year at Cleveland in 1990, there were 360 entries and only two classes, Stock & Mod. I was in the U qualifier and made it all the way up to the K Main. I think there were more cars entered in the paint Concourse than there are in Stock this year. Good times!
I'm sure that the economy has had a lot to do with the lower numbers, but there has to be something else keeping the other 154 entries away. Is it too many classes? Is it the change over to 1s lipo in 1/12 scale? Is it the cost of the hobby in general? Funny how the largest class is 13.5 1/12 scale and the next largest is Masters and only a couple of years ago TC was the big deal.
I wish I could be there this year but I'm one of those that has felt the crunch of our current economic environment and I'm sure that I'm not alone. I wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and a safe trip to and from the race. I will be watching on LiveRC as much as I can so make sure to wave to the camera when you walk by. And to those running in the Masters class, make sure Chicky gets a proper initiation.

I recall when I first raced, it was 1/12 only, no other classes. I do agree that most of the races held now, have too many classes. It's great to have lots of different cars to run, but there is the potential to spread out the field too much.
It would have been nice to run this year, but as I said, just can't get away for that long this year.
I am going to try to make arrangements for next year . . .
Good luck to all who are running. Have fun, I plan to stop out over the weekend.
Later,
Pete

Looks like too many classes IMHO. The few times I attended this race it was 4 classes; TC stock and mod, 1/12 stock and mod.
Plain and simple.
The racing and attendance were much better and this is going back just 5 years ago. I think there needs to be a return to the basics of what this race was.

For 1/12 scale is it just lipo or lipo and cells?

i heard that too.
super tight track, i don't think the lanes were wide enough so they were changing the layout to make room. it may change again, while i was there they were bringing out new "boards/corners" and seeing how they look on the track.
