I remove the battery tray from my radio...and I charge them with my OLD Novak Millenium at 1A on the NiMH cycle..works like a dream

any peak charger capable of NiMH's and 8 cells should do just fine...

I don't now for sure...but my R1 is at 9.0V...they are both JR radios..so I'm guessing it will be somewhere in that ballpark...

if you hear the alarm though..you've already pushed it too far and you need to get onto a charger or put your backup batteries into your transmitter...

The new batteries are NiMH...so you may as well charge them early as opposed to running them down since you don't hafta worrry about cell memory

keep in mind that at 1A charging a 2100mah pack from dead will take you 2 hours....

personally...charging batteries is something I do the day before...
I charge my main batch of cells and my backups... so it's one less thing to worry about come race day

do you have to make a special connect to work with the charger or do you just use alligator clips some how.

It all depends on the battery tray...

my R1 has a connector that is the same as a servo connector, so I used a servo extension wire to make a connector and hooked Alligator clips to the other end...

Another trick you can do is remove your tray and put battery bars between the battery and the contact at the ends and hook your clips to the battery bars...

One more thing you can do, if your radio does not have a removeable battery tray, is get a battery tray from your LHS...they are inexpensive and allow you to charge your batteries while not having them connected to your valuable electronics...
