tire tweak

Hi guys,I've just bought and prepared a f103gt tamiya to be used on asphalt tracks with medium grip. My question is: I normally use jack the gripper on rear tires(foam 30mm width) and partially on front ones (foam 26mm). I've read that to increase grip it's better to use tire tweak, but before jack, then tire tweak or only tire tweak or.... Thanks in advance,Paul.

Up! Please,no news?

first jack and over that tire tweak.

It doesn't improve the grip but you have longer grip.

Thanks Mikky32,but immediately after jack or I let it soak?

that's something i don't now. i don't use it myself.
I will ask this weekend to someone that uses it.

Thanks for your disponibility!

Try some thick creamy sunscreen too, just rub it into the surface of the foam, let it sit for 15+ minutes, and wipe off excess. As good if not better than any traction compound.

Hi Besercoe, thanks, many and many years ago (in the last century or millennium, indeed! Oh,I'm so old!), I used for tamiya class racing, coppertone top 15. It worked great in foam tires! But it smells(good!) and this is forbidden in italian competitions. However thanks!

Hi,anyone could suggest me something about this matter? Cheers.

This is what i usually do:

1) Put tire traction additive on tires (jack the gripper or red dot)

2)Let it soak for at least half an hour using tire warmers

3)Wipe the tires clean with a rag

4)If the track is clean put tire tweak, let it soak with tire warmers for a while, wipe clean with a rag and go racing

5)If the track is dusty use sun lotion (coppertone) instead of tire tweak

Ciao! ;)

Hi fastfreddy, thanks,it's nice to see two italians that speak,in a foreign website,in english. I'll test it! Nice to read from you, ciao

Oh,it sounds like a good mixed-drink! We'll test it in Palazzolo, next w.e.,for the 1st round of nats! If your car will be so fast,I could try! What's this thread?? A "little Italy???!!!???

Hi,no news?

John_S 03-29-2009 01:24 PM

hi i think you would get better results with using CS High grip rather than jack the gripper. as i think it gives more consistent grip for longer into the run
