Since I'm sitting here on my soapbox, I'll give some of my other thoughts on the race.
Marshals: Much better in the second round. They are finally checking people and making sure the track is covered.
Directing/Announcing: Top notch.
Tech: They are teching weight, ride height, width, body height and wing height before each heat, and teching weight after each race. They said they'd be teching motors heavily, but I haven't seen it happen yet.
Heats: The racing is absolutely BRUTAL, at least in the two Stock classes. Most everybody who's sponsored/factory got put in the later heats, with the rest of us poor chumps in the earlier heats. The skill levels vary from practically novice to semi-pro, and it shows. Some of the earlier heats are just a thrill ride of crashes, I've seen everything from leaders getting blatantly taken out (and not called at all on the mic) to cars driving backwards at the end of the straightaway into head-on collisions. There's not much anyone can do about it, but it's pretty frustrating for the drivers, and many have vented. I just approached it with a "well, this should be interesting" attitude...
Track: As technical as it looks, it flows VERY well and is fast and fun to drive. It is, in my opinion, the best layout I've driven on at any of the national-level races I've attended so far.

Hey shane, throught the most technical section of the track, how wide is it, i mean feel. It looks like it's a one lane, slip and ur in the wall type of track, am i right, or can your run two lanes through it. I mean run 2 lanes good, not for 2 seconds, then a crash.(i think this might be toward a later heat, not the 1st couple)

Wow, Cavalieri in the show in Mod TC so far. THAT is a surprise!
Blackstock and Baker tied in Mod TC after round two to the hundredth of a second. That's a surprise, too!
I really wish I was there. I don't even care that I'd get hoarse.
GET 'EM BLACKSTOCK!!!!

Alright Hodge, top ten!
Any word on Pepe Lemieux?
Is Martin Crisp running an Evo 3 Surikarn?
I'm really suprised Billy is running. When I asked him at the World's if he was going to run, he said he didn't decide to run until too late and he couldn't get in. That was before he was WC though.

Good job Shane! Where are you in all of this?
I told Jeff (the odd Canadian fool that is covering the event for XTreme RC Cars) to stop and chat. If you see him kick him so he knows it's you.
