Speedzone 3.7v Lipo 4800mAh 30C
Just wanted to let everyone know that we are working on some 3.7v lipo packs for 1/12 scale. The first round will most likely be a soft case pack.
I'll post some more details during the week. Stay tuned! |

Lipo Pack in a SpeedMerchant Rev. 5
Car was run without a receiver pack or booster. Speed Control is a KO BMC. |
GOod to know the BMC runs without the rx pack... does it run good the full 8, or feel soft at the end?
|
Nice! I was wondering how long it would take for more lipo manufacturers to jump on the 12th bandwagon. It'd be good to see a hard case and a little more capacity, as I think 4800mah will be cutting it close running for 8 mins with a 3.5, which would give you similar rpm as a 6.5 @ 4.8v and make lipo a viable alternative for those running mod, like me :D
|
At 4800 mAh you should have no problem making time with a 3.5 as long as you run at a lower weight with the LiPo. Many are thinking the single cell weight will land around 700 to 725 grams.
|
It's awesome to see some competition entering this market. I am more than pleased with my SMC stuff, but things may get intertesting now.

4800mah should give you plenty of run time. AT 35amps discharge, we are looking at 510 seconds +, run time should not be an issue. |
a carbon-look printed hard case with build-in 4mm banana plugs would look nice and neat in a 1/12 panner...:D
|
ideas
hard case 3.7v lipo. no connectors, in built bannana plugs with no wires extruding from the case, etc.
4800mah should give you plenty of run time. AT 35amps discharge, we are looking at 510 seconds +, run time should not be an issue.[/QUOTE] So it would be awesome if someone would do a hard case in built bannana plugs like the saddle packs and include a voltage booster in the pack with servo plugin also ideal setup that way if you need it you got it , running smc, novak 17.5, novak 4 cell 2.4 gtb and volatge booster as fast as 4 cell same set up just way different gearing lipo save so much time at the track brings the fun back into racing ,, that's what i would like to see and BUY please let me know when your packs will be ready !!!! |
I couldl do without the voltage booster built in to the pack... I'd rather have one voltasge booster in the car than have to pay the extra cost of a built in voltage booster for every pack...
I used to be very much in favor of the banana ports in the harcase packs, but after Danny explained why he went with the Deans plugm, I'm now not so sure... I do like the idea of the Deans plug being easy to replace (being external) versus the idea that if the banana barrel corrodes or wears you really can't get at it for maintenance... But I DO still like the neater easier banana setup... so I guess I'm on the fence with that issue. I guess the issue would be if the banana barrels could be expected to outlive the cells in the case.. if so, I'd go banana. If not, I'd go Deans. If the pack WERE to have banana ports, I'd want to see them located similarly to where the battery bars are on a 4 cell pack, not both at one end of the pack. Just my opinion... |
3.7v Hard pack w/ built in voltage booster
the voltage booster i run is only 10 bucks and works great and is very small it is an MPN booster pack lay out i run my esc on the left and receiver on the right to shorten wires and save weight think b+ and B- on one end and voltage booster on other or something like that would make wiring alot lighter and less tweek [ slot to run motor wires under batt?????? both ends higher so can go on both sides???
_______________________ [ 0+ 0- <...> ] [ ] [ SPEEDZONE ] [______________________] then could flip for other installs my car runs flat and slow sevo with out v-booster thanks |

Just my opinion... Before I got to the end of your post I was thinking the ports should be where our battery bars are... then recalled, I have a t-plate kit. |
+1 on the hard case 3.7v lipo. no connectors, with built-in bannana plugs with no wires extruding from the case like Orion design..bottom of the case use the 1/2 round nimh cell unit to make sure it fits the current 1/12th car..
However, what about those who use saddle pack 12th scale car..? May be they need to consider using LINK car afterall... |
If you going to have wire come out of the case I would like to see 16g wire and please remember 1/12 bodies are low so no wires on top of case or post on top of case.

t-bar car lipo
make one that will work for both hump in center wiring space for non t-bar and room for t-bar show us some picts of prototypes and lets vote . I run crc gen x with smc battery and booster now and no problems sofar ,and crc t-bar with a123 batteries and booster ok batteries large would like a t-bar option ? Still like the built in booster idea!! need any testing PM me
