Yes, I believe it is still a prototype. The battery is held down with tape. Looks like the X-ray set up.

There's a better view of how the battery is secured.

I've been running this chassis for 2 mos or so. It is simply amazing!

I'm finding I don't like the way the pivot balls are done on top of the front suspension hubs. I've had the set screw come loose from the ball a few times now. I would prefer to replace that with a normal ball stud. Does anyone know which ball stud best matches the stock setup?

Whomever it was should sell those narrow chassis. Would probably sell quite a few. Maybe sell a motor mount that puts the motor slightly closer to center too while they're at it.

I'd also love it if anyone would make the end piece of the bellcrank that holds the radial Ackerman insert, out of something other than plastic. There are upgrades for every other part of the bell crank, but that one piece that isn't sold separately from a bunch of other plastic stuff that you don't need.

Loctite the ball to the set screw

Funny thing about this is I've heard of this issue many times, But I have never had one come off. And maybe in the last 2 years of running the car I have had one loosen up like 4x in hundreds and hundreds of packs. All of this with no loctite.

I'm not sure what I'm doing differently than other people.

It was previously mentioned that Josh Cyrul from CEFX cut them for the US top team only.
Given their history, i cant see Josh selling them direct, or TOP copying the design and manufacturing them directly.

I have hit up Smokem a number of times, but he is hesitant given the age of the car, expecting a new design to come. But without Josh, what are the chances of an improved design coming in the short term?
