Using chatter free front drive shafts allows you to run the car with full steering lock. So far I've done this two different ways - both of which I've documented and included parts lists.

You can easily fix that broken cross pin with piano wire from any hobby store. This is also documented.

The atomic /spec-r shafts designed for XRay t2/t3 are 50mm long but these will ONLY mate up with XRay diff/spool parts. You cannot use them with the TOP diff/spool parts. The size of the "mating" connector on XRay parts is different than TOP. GET IT?

I see. So the BD-5 shafts will fit TOP diff/spool outdrives, with the xray blades. Correct?

Yes.
The xray blades just appear to hold up longer in the documented configuration. Others might work too.. but I didn't have any other brands in my pit box to try ..

Hi,

I am running a photon gear diff u-pro or m-pro which ever you prefer!!!

It comes with 2 red alloy rings that look like out-drive protectors but they are far to slack and would just fall off, can any one tell me what they are for??

Spacers, they go on the inside of the bulkheads so the diff doesn't slide left to right.

Here is my most recent setup. It works very well. Our bite was really high this week and there was zero worry of traction rolling while many other cars were.

I suggest if you are going to try the setup please do the whole thing exactly how it is listed. Putting half a setup on is not trying the setup.

Change your shock orings to the 40 degree ones and put fresh ones in when do this setup. Its very important to have perfect working shocks for this setup to work good.

i have the old shocks still on my car and I need to upgrade to the new ones. I was wondering if the new shocks have the 40 degree orings with them? Also, I noticed on the set-up sheets, it is not shown which hole everybody uses on the rear hubs. Which one does everybody use?

You know I see "RC Market" always on here looking for business, so I finally order a gear diff for my Photon on Monday, pay for express shipping, and now my status says processing for 2 days! Is this normal? Seems weird to pay for expedite shipping and then have it sit for a few days before shipping

You'll need to buy the 40 degree o-rings.. they are not the ones included with the new shocks.

The inside hole is the one usually used on the rear hub. You'll see it checked on Larry's setup above...

Can the old shocks be upgraded to the new shocks by replacing the internals? Sorry if this has been asked before. Second question how can I tell if the new to me photon has the older or new shocks?
