Rod i have to agree with brad on this one. After driving a scythe since its release, i decided it was time for a new chassis(after all a 3yr old car just doesnt go as good as a new 1). Was waiting for the release of pics on this car and with all the crap and secrecy, went out and bought another chassis.

With the current economy in crisis i cant see those that have spent $$ on a new car coming back to TOP any time soon.

Also as the Australian importer, i thought your website would be working, was trying to get in contact but alas no website to get the contact details.

If pics were released even if only as prototypes, im sure those would of hung off on buying a new chassis

This car looks great. I have very little exposure to T.O.P. products though. So I have some questions.

What is the fit-n-finish like.

Whats the overall quality of T.O.P. parts / kits.

Are there any common issues that the Scythe had that could be expected with the Photon?

Whats the reliability of the drive-line (CVDs)?

I have no desire to start a brand comparison battle but can someone give me an accurate description of how T.O.P. products compare to XRAY?

Are they parts usually in stock or are there issues?

Thanks

Usually you will have to slightly file a thing or 2 here and there to get a snug fit but thats to be expected. c.v's are something you will need spares as they wear a little on the fast side but i beleive the latest ones have 2 sets of running holes so you can switch and get good life which is very good, so that would make things better. the pins on the newer c.v's dont wear so you should be good for a while without rebuild kit just wear out both sets and get new c.v's all together. diff outdrives wore quickly as well and alloy parts weren't the best quality i was always wearing toe blocks and the metal ball. but there is a lot of new materials being used on the new car so i think it would be interesting to hear what they have changed but this is my opinion from the arp and earlier car.

I understand why many people did not stay with the scythe when many other manufacturers were releasing new kits,

the website is down but a new one is in the works and will be announced soon,

It's not as bad as it looks like.
In the beginning the drive shafts were not good but now they are a lot better.
And when i read the things about the new TOP Photon and why some things are made so as they are made i believe that the new TOP will be better.

I like the look of this car.
Its the first car that has seriously made me think about a switch from my TC5.
Look forward to it being released.
