Default new small wheel hexs 4.5

Hi,

Anyone else had a problem with the new smaller wheel hex's?

They worked fine for a few runs however now they come lose, i havnt crashed the car or anything they just come loose alot i have one that wont even clamp on now.

There is a square piece that it clamps onto i think this may be the issue as it wont tighten down

Dont know whether i have a dodgy pack.

Hi All

Has anyone tried running the diffs in the low position?
As most other cars run low diffs i thought i would give it a try on friday night, and was surprised how stable the car felt, and it became super consistent to drive.

I seem to be naturally progressing towards the Larry setups, no swaybars etc, but the ones i have seen are all for high bite tracks,is there a low grip rubber setup anywhere?

have you tried PMC's setup from the prior page? and if not tired -- have you compared it to what you are currently running?

i race in the same area as Larry and we don't really have any low-grip asphalt tracks around here --- and if we do we are too busy running at the high-grip/smooth tracks that we are blessed with

I just checked out the PMC setup, and it seems to go against everything i would normally try for low grip. High RC Blocks, heavy Bars and the like. I found anytime i had the swaybars connected, the car just loses all grip and corner speed, hence why i seem to be progressing towards the Larry setups.
The main thing i have not tried yet, thats on his are the shorter top links.

Also, have you tried the low diff positions? This rarely seems to be fille in on peoples posted setups

Was really looking forward to trying some different ideas tonight.... The single screw mod for the spur shaft and no sway bars!

Rained out.... After one qual. The run I had started raining in the last minute and a half... and before that it was a little damp with NO traction!

Had a ball though and managed to pull it together better then the other guys!

Anyone got a good base setup for Castle Hill? Vercoe?

Brad,

I have been using the low diff positions front & rear. Agree car feels better, seems to improve grip.

Have also been using the shorter top links together with lower Low RC blocks / high position. Also using 1.3mm sway bars. Seems good balance between grip & responsiveness.

Phil,

Low RC blocks all round (high position). 1.3mm sway bars front & rear.
camber links, middle position on 1.25 option plates. Use 2mm spacers inner side of camber links.

Rest of set up is kit.

try to put the car flat on the setup board without wheels. My Proton i twisted somewhere , if I loose the wings it is straight. We have another car in denmark that is twisted right out off the box , something is wrong in my car , everything have been changed , still twisted.

Hello
My setup is for Low grip.

The tracks in my country are always dirty, only in the days of running is that gets a bit more grip but nothing special.

For me this setup works very well, even if against all theories.

I like having my chassi twist hard , but very soft springs and shocks.

To get an idea there are two more drivers with photons, and they have different setups to mine.

One uses a 1.4 stabilizer bars front and rear, soft wings and hi-blocks

Other using 1.2 stabilizer bars front and rear, soft wings and low-blocks.

We have three different setups but have more or less the same times in races.

try to use in the rear screw of the soft wings one o-ring between the screw and the wing.

You can utilize this tecnique in front wings and in rear wings.

this will give you more twist and helped to have more grip.

I leave an image to get an idea.

Best regards:
Pedro Silva

Hi guys, I filed away the "nub" on the steering block. However, my steering throw is still limited to 25 degrees. Does changing to Xray hub carrier allow a greater steering lock?

Also, any other recommendations to reduce steering radius without inducing a v loose rear?
