Orion Personal Lap Counter
Hi everyone,
I have an Orion Personal Lap Counter and it quit working a few weeks ago. I suspect it is the IR LED on the Transponder that is broken. Does anyone know where I can buy a replacement IR LED? Is it something common that I can get from Radio Shack?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

try http://www.mouser.com or http://www.digikey.com
They are online electronic supply companies. I'd think either one would have something for oyu. Just search on "infrared LED" and I'll bet you'll turn up a bunch.
Another way to go would be to grab an old defunct TV or stereo remote (I know I have at least six or sevon old remotes here in the house that are orphans) and rob the LED out of it... might just work.
