I normaly cut the comm after about 10-12 runs and keep the same brushes.... I used Enduro Brushes by the way.
When the brushes are used and get slightly discolored I have found them to give me more power, run time is a litle less though!

All I can say is that this motor is by far the best motor I have ever tried, More Power, More Run Time, Faster Laptimes and most important, Less Maintainence!!

Cheers,
Eirik Andreassen

how's the efficency as compared to other motors? like say the D5, KR?

Mike- One cool thing about the motor is that you get a few sets of brushes with it. I race with Racer- OZ and he did real well with the new Orion. Our local Mod buggy class is very competative and Racer runs with the sponsored guys...almost TQ'ed first night out with the mod...I would say if you are looking for a mod this is the only one to get!

Is this motor more of an rpm motor or high torque.

Hello highwayman,

This by far the most efficient motor I have ever had, another good thing is that power is the same during the whole run!
Previous motors would most likely start to fade at 4min, this does not!
I have never tried the Kr or the D5 so I can not compare, but I would be surpriced if it where not. I did 7 1/2 minutes at an indoor TC carpet track a few days ago and no one else on the track did more than 6 minutes.... (We use only 12turn in Europe by the way)

Speedo,
I think two set's with the Enduro Brush comes with the Modified and Touring versions...

jwf_frani,
I would say that this motor has been improved in all areas, the power band is much wider and therefor more usefull on all kinds of tracks. But there is one thing that impressed me allot, I went to 1/8th scale Gas track and I could not beleive the speed I had down the main stright, Awsome

GREAT! i use 9x2 and well, sometimes run time is a problem, so at least if this motor is more efficient, then i'll have no problem making run time with the V2.

Default V2 Update

Well, I put another weekend on my V2 motor and I am truly sold on this motor. After 15 runs on the motor, I trued the comm and only had to take off .002 off the comm before it was shiny clean, the enduro brushes had just fully seated themselves so I just cleaned them with a comm stick and put the motor back together. Ran the motor at a race last night, left it in the car for practice, my heats and the main event. We ran slicks last night and the 12x2 was pulling wheelies down the straightaway through the end of the night. A buddy of mine ran a 10x2 and he had nothing on me as far as torque, and top end. In total the brushes have 30 runs on them and still going strong. If this type of performance and longevity continues with this motor it will likely be the only brand of motor in my box.

Just picked up a Peak Vantage Surikarn edition 11x1 today. Can't wait to run it at Enid RC Speedway here in Oklahoma. The track is big and flowing, so it should be nice for mod.

Anybody have any setup tips for these things?

They are super smooth motors. I got a 10x1 I've been running in sedan. I do like the red endbells better then the blue though.

I wanna say around 7.80. Just remember that when you put the motor in your car its not gonna sound super fast. Just wait till you get it on the track.

Going to try to do some playing with it this weekend at Enid. Getting ready for TCS in Memphis next weekend, but I'm going to play with open mod some anyway.
