Yeah they do have them but they are $150 plus postage where as they are US$62 from tower and for my AU$150 I can get one with stack of brushes and bits and pieces, thats why I am waiting for tower to get them...

Joe B

I dont beleive that the Orion team drivers use lower winds in order to keep up with other brands. The fact is, they CAN run lower wind motors because of the effeciency of the V2 motor.

I think that the team runs them to utilize the advantage in power that comes from lower wind motors.

I have been noticing some pretty dominating results lately as far as worlwide racing goes.

Talk to ya later.

Default Schottky Diode?

Hi There!

I checked with a search, and didn't come across this topic -

Would adding a Schottky diode help the V2 motor? I figure it still operate like a regular motor. I have one and would like to install a Schottky...

So if there is no harm, I should do it?

Thanks

Dave

@ Flame thrower: You got it 100% right there.

@ Sharpie: Yes, you can gear it the same as the standard Element version. Take care though, it takes about 2 runs before the brushes are bedded in, before you gear it up.

@ F1 Junkie: Shottky diode will be better, motor will run a bit cooler if brakes are used often. Its no problem to fit on the v2, take care with polarity.

Just confirming, the black end bell low turn motors are for touring?
ie 7,8's ect

And a question, I'm trying to decide between a 7 turn and a 9 or 8 turn, just wanting to know which is best? If there is much difference in efficiency and maintinence between the three. I want a low turn, something that will smoke my ss5800, so a 9 or lower, lower would be preferable, if practical.

thanks
Wolf

I got a 10x2 V2 black endbell.
Am pretty satisfied with its performance but still some were faster than me.

Bought now a pair of Sprint brushes and Enduro.
Will use the Sprint on major races.
Also replaced the springs with hard ones.

Using enduro and hard springs, do you think it is ok to use a 5.6 final drive ratio? can i still do lower?
