Default Racing on carpet(not ozite)

Have any of you guys raced on carpet besides ozite? My local track races on an indoor/outdoor type carpet. It is real real short. The surface is used for a gym when we do not have the track built out.

I have never run there, but I have watched the local racers. They are running 40 foams and they have very little traction. I can't help but think that maybe some cs-22 rubber tires would work?? I have no idea and I am very unfamiliar with foam tires.

Which tires have you guys used on this type surface and which ones do you reccommend? 12th and touring?

Thanks a bunch,

Even bad foams will have more grip than rubber tires. Our carpet is crap and I use jaco 24mm purples all the way round with TQ Purple traction compound.

not sure about foams have more grip than rubber. the track i run on back in my hometown, nitro and eletric cars run together and electric cars with rubber have to much more grip than nitro with foam. electric cars could litterally withstand the crashes from nitro cars without spilling out or sliding everywhere, where when eletric cars come in contact with nitro cars, they could push it around.

I've ran on carpet oyher than ozite and pretty much the same compounds worked, we only ran 1/12th if I remember right it was all about purple fronts and white, or pink rears? so I would figure purple and plaids on a TC just my .02.
