Hi, I still think the best World GT Body out there is the Aston Martin DBR9.
It handles just as good as the Sophia and it is much better looking.

Those bodies are still being sold and run with the pro10 modified overhere. Last years German Masters pro10 had 42 entries and was won by someone using that porsche body with an almost box stock Corally 10SL and Orion electronics, i believe it was a 4.5t motor. Very impressive.

Nice!

I think right now that is my favorite as well. But for those of you interested in using the DB9 make sure you mount up the body at the ride height and tire height you will be running before you cut the bottom edge of the body. The first time I ran it at the IIC with small tires I had to raise the body by about 5mm to get to the legal height. Because I cut the body at the molded line that meant the body was about 5mm higher than the chassis. Plus it looks a lot better higher as well The nose doesn't look too low anymore

The Corvette Charlie Brown mentioned is approx 225 in the front and 228 in the rear. As I mentioned in another thread Protoform did a C5 and a C6 Corvette at one point so if they decided to do another one Id think itd be based more on either the C7 or on the ALMS GT challenging C6R or even the Z06 in PWC

That is cool Mr Smyka, but I think one of the things that was supposed to make WGT unique is having bodies that resembled real life GT challengers.

( i put a set of good tires on the car and it's night and day to the spec ties ) , no you have to run this body rule and maybe some 2s power , people i have talked to at our track seem to liking the idea

The easiest way to mess up at class your trying to get going is exactly what your doing. I've seen this done to many classes over the years. Spec tires work fine. Just have open tires but not bodies or 2 cell. It's just my educated opinion and I don't race there. Here in Florida we've had a open tire rule since we started racing WGT. But 99% use spec tires. Anyway have fun.

the 2s thing was me and a few guys just talking about it . i think if the track was big enough to warrant 2s speeds it would be fun or something like 10.5 1s , but i'm all for open body and tire for sure, the guys who want there favorite looking body on there car reguardless of perfomance can run what they like which for some is make or break , the crowd that goes for performace over looks can go that route and try different bodies out on the car to find what works best for them again lola / wedge bodies would not be not allowed unless enough people wanted to go that route which would also be fun. i would def throw the spec tire out the window ( run specs if they work best if they dont run what works best ) choices are always a good thing when it comes to traction imho , imagne 12th scale on lilacs as spec tire dont think people would enjoy it . basically what were looking at our track is what the euro guys do run these cars to closer to their capabilities and not tone it down to such a regulated spec class , i know and understand this would never happen on a national sanctioned level as wgt was created as a spec class and i hear what your saying about classes dying but locally everybody i've talked to likes it a whole lot better will it pan out hopefully , we'll see come spring
