Hey Guys-

The story of the day is who else....BK...he is TQ is 19T foam by a mile...he is the only one running consistent 11.3-5's....Todge is right behind him. PW and Teemu look good as well-

BK is also the only driver turning high 10's in mod.....I've seen this too many times at off-road events......BK is on his game. My prediction for both classes....19 & mod.

As for stock, it is all about Schumacher...Alex Lopez, Tim Heisman, Ron Atomic, Ryan Rhodes, Mike Abraira, Tony Padilla, and myself seem to be a tad faster than any other chassis....The wednesday night club race saw 8 of 10 in the main, including the top six of the qual order(some of us went to bed and didn't run the [email protected] btw!!)

Ron Atomic and Alex are on the top of the pile after one round in stock sedan....

I'll try to get more info out later-

Default Kinetix Leading

WOOHOO, Ron and Alex are both Kinetix drivers . Are you running Ron's setup? How is Michael "Toastie" Toth doing, he won it last year, but heard he wasn't hooking up yet.

I have been hearing nothing but amazing things about Kinwald on a local level with the xxx-s, so it sounds promising.

This damn hotel is charging $1.47 PER local phone call....so I'm going to just stay dialed up here in the room-

rcfiles-

It is funny, we all seem to be migrating to the same setup in the Shuie camp...Ryan and I started with my base carpet setup...Ron and another guy started with his...Alex has ran both...but all of our cars are starting to look real similar.

As for the Losi car- It seems to be doing well in mod and foam 19T- Jimmy Babcock is the only notable Losi driver in stock- he is not in the top ten after the first round however-

We are going to watch Mod qualifiing now- be back in a bit...

UPDATE: I have Round 1 results from Sedan.

OVAL RESULTS: There are no qualifying results yet because they haven't been run yet. I don't have the club race results either, I am trying to get ahold of them.

They are switching the track to Oval right now, sedans are done until tomorrow.

Round 1 results will be online momentarily. Stay tuned for Oval results later tonight, hopefully.

UPDATE #2: Results are online from Qualifying.

Here: http://www.rctech.net/events/snowbirds2002/index.shtml

Note that I do not have the manufacturers listed alongside the racers yet. I will work on that later today, right now I have rather incomplete information as to who is running what.

Other than what's up there on the results page, it's notable that in 12th Mod, Blackstock was just out of the Top 10 with 42/8:08. Spashett turned 41/8:08, Jucha managed 39/7:45 (dump?) and Kinwald broke. In Pro Mod, they are turning low-mid 11 second laps.

That's about all I have at the moment.

Interesting that there are only 7 seconds seperating the top 10 in mod sedan, with 2nd, 3rd and 4th both being on a 4:03, and 5th only one second back. Whereas at the Novak race it was much more seperated.

Makes for great competition. Good to see that someone is just not running away from the pack.

That's racing on foam tires for ya. :-) That's why a lot of folks prefer [me included] (and why Josh was so passionate about) foam tires over rubber tires.

Futureal,

Great job on the updates as usual. I am not sure who is taking the pictures for the updates but could I ask for a shot of sakke's equipment from team Corally. I run both the C4.1 and the new SP-12m 1/12th scale car. There were some great photos from the novak race of the more common stars cars (losi, tamiya etc.) but with some of the international drivers from holland and england I thought it would be cool to see their cars as well.

Thanks,
Steve

I was not aware that they were running foams. That would explain it. I'm not sure if I would like foams alot, right now can't afford to try them though

Speedo,
Foams are so much better than rubber. They are cheaper to buy and they last much longer and they will give you an honest 1.5 seconds a lap. It is my opinion that you havent driven a TC on carpet until you have done it with foams. The only issue that I think you are pointing out is the need for a truer.
