Instead of having the entire sidewalls milled out, Kinwald had them semi-milled. Sort of like (try to find the right word here) recessed areas all the way around.

Unless I'm mistaken, this would be a way to reduce the weight while retaining the rigid nature of the chassis. We actually saw that chassis at the Novak race, but I never got a pic. Kinwald had it in one of his race bags...

Matt,

Ticket from Madison $200.00
Room $60 a night
Food, how well do you want to eat? When you are racing you grab whatever food is the closest.
Parts $?
Airport transportation $25.00

I am sure I am missing something here.

Sorry I don't have any pictures of the winners cars. I was looking for the more obscure stuff like oval car chassis and Hyperdrives new 1/12th scale on road car.

Venomboy, nice paint work!

You should see Kinwald's new chassis that he was running for this week. Looks nothing like the one he ran at the Novak race.

Some people asked somewhere why Jimmy Babcock was running stock. From what I was told this was his first on road race and he spent most if not all of the first day building his car. He did run 19 turn as well though.
Jimmy ran the 99 Norrca on road nationals in Vegas....he he he.

Yeah, Jimmy ran the street weapon in 99 Vegas and didn't even have the slotted chassis that had been out for about 4 months. He even forgot his body so he ran my backup. Jimmy likes the dirt

SEMI-FINAL UPDATE:

OK guys, the races are over and we have most of our stuff back.

First, the results for OVAL have been posted. That means we now have compete Top 10 results for ROAD and OVAL, from the beginning to the end of the race. In case you didn't get the link earlier, here it is: http://www.rctech.net/events/snowbirds2002/index.shtml

Next, we are waiting for our factory car pictures to be processed. They will be up as soon as we have them ready, so stay tuned.

Finally, we have VIDEO. And we don't just have video, we have the entire sedan Pro Mod A Main on video. If you have a fast internet connection, you gotta see this. We have more video as well, but we have to wait and see exactly how hammered our server gets from this first one. If things don't die, we might post more.

Once again, thanks are in order:

Kraig for providing up-to-date results and info throughout the event.

BigDogRacing for the pictures AND the video.

And to everybody else for coming to R/C Tech and helping to make this such a great place.

Right, the Snowbirds site (www.snowbirdnationals.com) has the results for other mains, or at least, the winner of each one. Unfortunately we did not get a full printout of everything. If I can ever get ahold of that data, I will post it for sure.

It looks like they are going to try and update the Snowbirds site with more info within the next couple of weeks.
