I ordered 3 HotBodies Upperdeck and 2 sets of the F/R shock towers for the Pro 3. I was billed on 30 Aug 2001 and one of the staffs at Ricky's R/C said that they will be shipping the goods on the same day. I have NOT received the package yet. Just wondering whether how long it takes to ship to Asia (Singapore). Someone did tell me that it takes only 10 days by airmail. Any comments on how do I safeguard my money? This is the first time I am buying something directly from the USA. Thanks.

With the recent tragedy everything going by air will be delayed...
I would contact Ricky's Rc and verify if your package has shipped and how it was shipped. good luck....

All i have to say is be patient. I think the main reason is because of the recent tragedy that has occured. Ironically i had just ordered something from them the day before the incedent occurred (monday), and just recieved my parts yesterday. I live in southern California, which is supposed to be next day delivery,UPS.

For all you other PRO3 owners, i would highly suggest getting the PurpleAluminumCVDbones. They are kinda pricey at $10.00 ea. but the weight savings ar tremendous when compared to the shiny units. just as a guess from juggling the two different pieces, i would say the purple pieces are approx half the weight of the shiny's.

However, they are very weak! Their short lenght looks strong but they're not!!!!

In fact, I just bent one this weekend.

You can replace the rear shiny to the aluminum, though, because they will never bend. But leave the fronts stock!

fai:

If that spur gear adapter from Cross is heavy, wouldn't that be bad (ie slow) because of the rotating mass of the driveline?

kansasracer: Despite of rotating mass, at least Cross spur gear holder will add a few gram of net mass to your Pro3!!

Default Spur gear adapter

Well, even if it does add a little rotating mass, since that cheap piece of plastic has cost me 2 races so far I would welcome somethat securely holds on the spur gear, those screws they give you back out sooooo easy....

HPI really didnt think that completely thru...

Any ideas when we can order that stuff???

I contacted Adrian at Schumacher... they said they will not be importing any Pro3 parts. Only if the demand is there that they will start to bring stuff in... also if you really want any Pro3 parts it can be special ordered for you, just buy it direct from Shcumacher. Let them know what you want... see the Cross website for part numbers.

I went there on Tuesday, and I didn't see them (but I didn't really look because I have them already ) They have Hot Bodies Purple Shocks, though.

I have the Penguin chassis and their optional (#3010) upper deck. It looks a lot like the HB one. I tried it, and I went back to the upper deck that comes with the chassis. I could not tell any difference in stiffness or performance. The only way I had to check the stiffness was by hand (man, that sounds bad...) but on the track there was no difference in my lap times. I tried it on both parking lot tracks and indoor carpet tracks. I noticed no difference with the optional upper deck. Plus, now I can get my batteries out without removing the upper deck.
