what your pro3 look like?
Well, didn't mean to ruffle any feathers, but i figured you had to put a lot of money into. How much does the car weigh now compared to the kit edition? Just curious.

It sure does look cool. Way better than mine.

nono...this car was used in the Hong Kong international race which was held a few days ago. Hara used this car, which is a pro3 with the batt on one side and electrons on the other...

the one on orion's page is a completely woven graphite tube chassis....but this one is a totally mod Pro3 with a different chassis!

It's a bit disappointing to see TWO prototype pro3's with the battery's off-centre.

the main reason I bought the pro3 was a firm belief in the centre battery being superior.

All very interesting when you consider that HPI themselves have now admitted the pro3 hasn't worked as well as they wanted, and have starrted asking the HPI forum what should be done to improve it.

Are HPI going to end up by moving to a more conventional (i.e. copying Associated, Losi etc.) kind of layout?

It'll be a shame if they do.

Where'd you get that pic of Hara's car?

Cool.

Maybe it was designed specifically for that track. Left turns?

999: Oh... May I make a correction? The 'side battery' pro3 was just 'tested' in the race and wasn't used in qualify and final by Hara... Hara changed back to his HPI pro3.

thats right i am brining this one back from the dead. I just recently picked up a pro3 with a full carbon fiber chassis and a ton of spares. Always really liked these cars even when i had my pro4 i always wanted one.

Well with the vintage trans am racing becoming a pretty popular class i figure why not use the pro3 and have a little fun. Got the car running great except one thing and thats what leads me to reviving this thread and seeing if anybody has an answer for me. Right now i am trying to get the chassis down to a legal 5mm ride height for the class and even with regular touring car springs front and rear along with the threaded collars as high as they will go on the shocks the car is riding at 6+mm of height fully loaded. I figure that will go even higher when i pull the 6 cell and put in the 4cell for the class. Is there any way to lower the car some more?
