HPI-1: You just make sure you get that Pro3 hooked up in a hurry. You should have fun with that car. It will be odd to see you running something other than the Pro2 though.

Darkside & HPI1:

Thanks for the props...I love the atlas (but I haven't run it yet, so maybe I should wait to pass judgement)

You bet I'm going to mix it up in carpet. I am also looking at getting a 12th scale (either the carpet knife or the Rev. 3 from Speedmerchant)

But I haven't ever run on carpet...another learning curve...

kansasracer: I feel better now, now I know I'm not the only one who has never raced on carpet. So we are sharing this learning curve.

What do you mean, you've never run it. Find a nice clean parking lot, and see what shes got under the hood!

Still working out the bugs in it, but she has gotten a "shakedown run"

But the real test is on the track

Kansasracer,
Carpet is all about the setup. What I mean is that , if you don't have the right tires, you can forget it. Even if you are the best damn driver, rookies will beat you without the grip. On asphalt there is a lot more room to compensate. In carpet, it's easy to find yourself down some laps. But it is fun. If you are like Darkside, he will be there early to practice and I know he will be ready. Also Kansas, a guy that e-mails me from HPI racing states that the Pro 3 runs better in stock racing on carpet. You may want to try them both. I mean you will still be looking at the back of me of course, LOL!!(humor there) Seriously, good luck with the Atlas.

Default question for Sport

I'll just post my question here...

my spur gear has numbers 124 stamped on it so I guess this is the no. of teeth...my pinion has 35...so that makes my gear ratio 3.54

Now I looked it up at HPI gear ratio chart and theres no 124T spur...its only up to 122T...why is that? I counted my spur gear and its 124 alright...

Can somebody make me see the light?

Thanks

Eh. The HPI Forum is closed. Forever, maybe? Hopefully not, because it will be weird for me to lose one forum to look at.

The spur gear that you have is probably not a HPI purple one. The spur gear chart at HPI only shows the spur gear sizes that they sell.

Nevermind, the HPI forum is back up.

They had a message earlier saying someone posted Pornographic material and the forum was closed.
