I don't know how far i'm straying off the original point of this thread, BUT...

In my oppinion, why do the cars have to look like full scale vehicles? its obvious that manufacturers are going to push the envelope on the rules (in order to provide the latest and greatest for their customers), and within that modifacation, you lose a great amount of scale appeal. The "rules" that are set are nearly meaning-less, because now we are seeing RC-scale 200mm adapted (or shall i say bastardized) full scale cars, that not only fit what the racer wants, but it kinda looks like its full scale counterpart. Kinda being the key term. Do you guys race scale bodies for kinda scale realism? Nobody's going to go out and buy that because it "looks just like the aston", nor would they with the sophia, etc. There needs to be strict rules in order for the class to stay "relistic", probably including licencing, which is hard for manufacturers and therefor fellow racers. So why can't we some something specialised for the RC car? Why don't we all run treaded radials, multi-spoke wheels? why do we still run the cars on carpet? with electric motors and batterys of great volume?

I still dont see how it was approved if the rules say no rear spoiliers are allowed yet this body clearly has a rear spoiler molded into it. Either way its a moot point like Rick said this class is heading down a bad road.
No wings is for the Can Am class. Not WGT... You know because there still running Can Am. Can't think of a single LMP style car in the past 10 years that doesn't have a freaking wing including those retarded looking Daytona "prototypes"

Lame rule that doesn't look like currently "raced" cars.

Im talking about the little extra spoiler on this body. A spoiler and a wing are not the same thing....thats the reason they are listed the way they are in the rules. A spoiler is the little lip at the rear of car....in this case its under the Wing. So looking at the rules it says that a rear spoiler for WGT is N/A...Not Allowed but a rear wing is allowed....which to me isnt with-in the rules. Heck looking at the real car pictures that this body is based off that car doesnt have that little rear deck lid spoiler so this was added for some sort of aero advantage. Either way it passed for ROAR and was approved ohh well.

Welp, there goes the neighborhood! $$$ talks, honor and respect for rules walk. 200mm Pan Car class was great while it lasted. I'm still going to try and push restrictions against using the Sophie and Aston "wedge" bodies and try to have a mod class for em instead at my track. It'll probably be shot down or argued against now that the Sophie and Aston bodies are out now.

If Parma were to make a body that was a spitting image replica of the DB9, it would sell about as well as a Wagon Queen Family Truckster (and handle about the same).

The precedent was set by another manufacturer when they released their latest WGT body, and had it approved.

In that picture I can see it now....either way the rules say your cant but they do and it passed so what ever that was ROAR's call.

I like the new body. The detail work on the hood is nice. It looks like it will be a nice alternative to the Sophia. I look forward to trying it.

I run a few bodies on my TC. the RX8, the escort cosworth and the Zonda. and I find the Zonda to be the quickest of the bunch and handles like a beauty.

How about a Mazda speed 6? I think you will be impressed. Just enforcing the point of what works on the track is what sells.

I know there is a need for having good handling bodies and all but I like how they have it in the UK. If you look at the pictures at the RC Racechat link you see Saleens and Corvettes and even an Aston Martin DB9 (which looks more like the actual DB9 raced in real life). I do think that if this class is to succeed at a larger scale, you have to reconcile authenticity and handling and then also get all the governing bodies on the same page as to body rules, power systems and the like
