Enjoy it man!! I know a lot of people might think I'm crazy.. Billy Sydor, Syndrome, and I did the 24 hour road trip to Vegas last year. Was great. Its actually a very nice drive after you get out of western Kansas.... Other than dodging the Tornadoes in Denver anyways lol.

Yeah, 30 minutes before these guys show up, a tornado basically dropped in my back yard. I snapped this pic of it. My wife wasn't all that excited about me leaving before the storm had even cleared out.

The drive through the rockies and beyond along I70 is gorgeous. It was a LONG trip, especially on the way back when I contracted the Vegas plague, but still a good time.

I have a couple of hours and I will be doing a 6 hour drive to LV. I would much rather fly, but I miss being able to bring your own drinks and stuff along, so driving again this year.

Have a safe trip Luke - we're heading down to Heathrow (very!) early tomorrow morning. Hope the luggage allowance works out ok

Uncle Peter is over in LA at the moment and will be in Vegas later on Monday.

Fran has been packed all week. I'm more a last minute kinda guy

Bring it on

Mark

Luke, MarkB - weather here is very hot. Been on the shopping trail and have everything ready for the road trip to Vegas - lighter fuel, evo-stick and superglue bought and packed, so leave yours behind. Luggage was fine, they didn't open anything. Vegas is over 100degF, so bring the sunscreen and the thinnest clothes you can find!

See you all in the pit area on Monday - first one in bags four spots! I'll be in about 3pm local time. Go Team GB!!

From Dallas, Texas we have the following 9-peeps from Mikes Hobby Shop participating at the IIC:

Mikes Dumas
Yang Lai
Andrew Doherty
Kelly Nowell
Shaun Grider
Tom DuVerney
Steve Breuer
Aaron Breuer
Drew Webster

We would have taken all of our local racers if we could have afforded it, maybe next year.

Several years ago a group of us went to a race, two of us where in the city ahead of time, just in time to be on the edge of a tornado. We had just parker the van and where waiting for the rain to let up before running to the hotel. After the back of the van picked up the second time we decided to get the heck out of it and booted it to more solid ground.
Our other group slightly behind us didn't even know there was a storm looming, Dean "the stomach", a guy with a healthy appetite, was so hungry, he insisted that they stop for some food........unknowingly that, had they not, would have been in the exact spot that the twister had passed thru and took down all the high tension power lines amoungst other destruction.
Anyways, for several years after that, when we travelled with Dean, if he wanted to stop for food, there wasn't even a question of going on, we would immediately find a food spot, lol.

Less than 12 hours till we leave, and I'm catching a cold. I just hope the airline lets me on with all this stuff. Safe trip hoped for all the travelers.
